yea i agree. I love how ppl on the board (including myself sometimes) believe Woj or broussard when its something positive for us and immediately discard anything the same reporters say when its something negative for us.

The reaction has been overwhelmingly that of disbelief. Does anyone really think the Nuggets could be that amateurish? Or that Wojo has reliable sources after his absolutely butchery of the story last night? But we're entertaining the possibility because it's amusing.

Obviously we don't know what is true but it's all hilarious either way.

I sit back and think of the actual parties that benefit from these reports being leaked and there is NO way it's the Nets UNLESS they want to be seen as the party that tried to bend over backwards for Melo and they couldn't get him--saving face with their fans--but their fans really weren't freaking out about this in the first place.

Instead, I think this squarely falls on EITHER Denver, OR the agents for Carmelo. Denver has the interest of blaming NJ for the failed negotiations though I really think this threat leak would be absurd if it was Denver. It makes Denver seem amateurish especially when public perception is that the Nets are bending over backwards to accomplish the deal. Melo's agents, though makes more sense. Instead of alienating the New Jersey/Brooklyn "market," you blame Denver for not getting this deal done when the truth is Melo never wants to sign with NJ but doesn't want to make that clear to the public.

These "threats" and "near deals" don't seriously happen THIS often with professional organizations. These organizations, under normal conditions, have all the interest--especially to their current teams--to keep the negotiations private and disclose it only when they have a deal done. That's how these trades normally go down and--for whatever reason--it isn't happening here. I think it's all being fabricated by Denver and/or Melo's agents.

The Nuggets must have leaked the fact that they are fed up with all the leaking. At some point these guys should ditch Wojo and get on wikileaks.
