Even Vegas odds had them winning the title. Some went crazy and said 72+ wins etc even.

What people!? Who are these imaginary people? This board loves the straw man argument.[/quote]

@Allball
And I love the argument of basically asking for evidence that can't possibly be substantiated. You want me to go find every ESPN, NBA.COM, Topbuzz forum poll... and get audio recordings from the Heat fans I've talked to?

You're accusing me of the Straw man argument in a situation where there is clearly no physical evidence I can suggest to support my claim. That doesn't make it untrue. I listed 1 source being Vegas odds preseason predicting Heat to win the title this year. It's not a surprise that a lot of people were buzzing about them beating the Bulls 72 win season either. Even coaches like Stan Van Gundy flat out proclaimed "They will break the Bulls 72 win record season". I know some took it for sarcasm but when pushed about it many times he said he was being sincere and you could tell he wasn't joking. Then all the Heat fans on forums got lively with the title talk..... and of course when the bad stretch started you had the whiners, doubters and throw in the towel types. Just like with any title contending team like Boston and Lakers it's the same way. When their team is on the up everyone is so confident.. but the minute a losing streak starts it's all tears and excuses. As for recently them suddenly being alive and cocky again just hang around on RealGM long enough and you'll see the hundreds of Heat fans coming out of the wood work trying to clown on people. Unfortunately contending franchises always attract this crowd of fans.

Your giving examples of people saying they are contenders. You easily brought that up. I'm asking who was saying they where underdogs? I don't remember anyone saying that.

I was hoping it wouldn't happen at all tbh. Quite impressed with how well the Heat are playing.

If it wasn't for the Mavericks, this run of theirs would be even more impressive.

Or maybe, historic.

I think they will approach the all-time wins record next season.

Man realgm must be bi-polar.

Half the time its "outside the big three, they have nothing", "the big 3 cant play together, especially in the playoffs", "can't win with spoelstra as head coach" "only 1 ball to go around, it wont work out", "cant win without a defensive big" "no go to post player", etc

and the other half the time its "oh its expected, theyre all amazing players", "these are 3 unselfish top 15 players, of course it'll work", etc

Pre-season, I thought it would happen sooner and they would be dominating instantly.

After the 9-8 start I thought it would take a year to year and half for them to really gel but, I was wrong they are there already.

Only thing remains to be seen is how will they be able to beat the good teams in the playoffs with size. Especially since there are fewer fast break opportunities in the playoffs.

Heat fans are touchy, even the true Heat fans are getting touchy with all the crap they have to put up with from their stupid fans and the haters

Wait? Miami won a championship already. Man that's pretty impressive. Didn't even know the season was over and now they stand alone as number one. Congrats to all the Heat fans on your title.

During this stretch most of the Heat's schedule was pretty easy while the Clippers have been giant slayers this year knocking multiple top tier teams off big win streaks. I honestly think the Clips can hang with Miami if they come out focused. If they come out sluggish or unfocused.. 40 point blowout.

The Heat won't win the East in the playoffs, so in the end, all of this doesn't matter much.

Heat are mediocre. They're a regular season team. Don't have a chance in hell to beat Boston though.
