Not really...especially with Will progressing like he has. Is Granger really that much better than Chandler at this point? And his contract is insane. I'd rather get a center and try to acquire a SG.

I am thinking Melo's agent is all on his ear. Here is what they tell him: Go and play with Billups and Hamilton. Come 2012 (and maybe earlier), we will bring in CP3. Billups expires and the agent will make Hamilton opt out and sign a long term cheaper contract so that they have enough to pay CP3 the max.

I think Melo started to realize Denver GM will not deal with the Knicks unless FA is a real threat. It is up to Melo to stand up and say it is Knicks or bust.

+1
It would be nice if we could make a move for Melo before then though, it would allow us to try to potentially acquire a big man before the trade deadline if possible. Until the Melo situation is resolved we are basically on hold with all other moves.

Upset over the public nature of their trade talks, the Nuggets threatened the Nets on Monday with the possibility of trading Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks.

Denver made the threat to put pressure on New Jersey, according to a source.

A source told Yahoo! Sports that a three-team deal was "really close" on Sunday, but the talks went underground on Monday following Denver's treat.

FWIW, BT said on the radio yesterday that his sources in the know have said CP3's knee is quickly becoming arthritic and he wants no part of CP3 in 2012.

No surprise to us...we knew this a while ago when it was published the Ujri would not tell Walsh what he was looking for.
