he points out that EJ is the one carrying Clippers, how he gets overlooked and his family ties and his future as a clipper.

I love the part where Platshke states that EJ doesn't pout or complain; Dude watch more than 5 minutes of a Clips game b4 u write an article. Any Hardcore Clips fan will tell u that EJ has one HELL of a scowl when the ref's piss him off.

I'm not scared about him going back east. He'll be a restricted FA, which means we could match any offer. Plus, I bet we will sign him to an extension this offseason anyways, so he won't even become a RFA after next year.

The only team that I would even have serious concern about would be Indiana. In the past he has spoken about wanting to be extended by us. If there's no extension, then we'll just re-sign him after his 4th season when he's restricted.

The major key to keeping players like Blake and EJ is to win. I get frustrated when I read fans on Clipper boards talk about rather having the higher pick over getting more wins. That was fine when all we had going for us was EJ, DJ and Thornton. Now that we have legit franchise player along with EJ looking like a good 2nd or 3rd key player, we need to look to improving the team and building a winning environment as opposed to underachieving year after year. These guys have the right attitude and are all about wins. If we can win, then they'll likely stay.

I'd hate to see EJ go, but interesting article about him, i also like it how he doesn't seem arrogant at all

If hew did wish to go to Indiana, we could hold him for a sign and trade for Granger. I'd much prefer we just kept him obviously...

I'd say if we are not competitive enough then EJ might request a trade when it's time for him to be re-signed. I do like the talent that we have on this roster and we will be better than what people think.

I don't see Gordon going anywhere.

We hold all the cards in our hand and I'm sure he loves playing together with Blake.
Those two are the centerpieces of our franchise and I'm pretty confident that our FO will do their work this upcoming offseason to re-sign EJ longterm, no matter how much $(also depends on the new CBA) that might cost.
After all we've got his rights and he'd become a RFA in 2012, with us still being able to match any offer he would receive.

On the flipside, what would you give up for a 22 year old top 10 scorer who can play at both ends of the court, on a freshly inked deal?

Our biggest trade asset is our expiring deals, however that doesn't really work to well for the Clips if they want to keep Gordon. I guess money is always good. So expiring deals plus maybe a young guy, Lance Stephenson I'd be willing to throw in with a protected 1st rounder. But that's just me as a fan of the guy, it seems the Pacers are fine w/ Brandon Rush as our SG of the future, but I like Rush as our 6th man. But I believe the combo of Granger/Collison/Hibbert is totally untouchable, but everyone else may be available for the right price. They may be willing to ship Rush in a deal for a resigned Gordon though. Which I'm fine with, cause Paul George would make a good 6th man too.

Like you've said, the Pacers and Clippers don't seem to be good trading partners and the stuff you're offering here is nowhere near to what Eric Gordon is worth.

I pretty much agree, I think the only way we could pull EJ from you guys is if he doesn't want to resign in LA, and your FO would be in position to get SOMETHING for him rather than nothing, so they may flip him. We have a young SG we could send to replace EJ in your starting 5 in Rush, but only thing to pair him w/ is picks, or expirings, but IDK what you'd do w/ expirings either. So it seems we are just bad trading partners.

Maybe he'll just sign w/ us as a FA. :wink:

Good luck Clipps, I hate the fact that you have to play in the Lakers shadow, as you're so much more fun to watch. Other than the Pacers, and the Warriors who have my fav player in Monta, the Clippers are the one team I want to win the most.

With the WT atricle about Danny no longer being untouchable, I wanted to revist this. Would a re-signed Gordon for Danny swap be possible? You guys get a equal tier player on a better contract (assuming EJ will get big bucks on his new deal.) We get our 1st option scorer and open a spot for Paul George at SF. What would a deal with Danny for Eric look like to you guys?
