[Camelo Thread Part 8] - NJ Gets Threats From Denver!

I want to bring up an angle that maybe hasn't been discussed.

It's about the rumor that Melo would agree to sign an extension with NJ.

He never once has said he would sign an extension with any one team publicly. So we know it didn't come from him. What he has said though is that he would not sign the extension to stay in Denver. This wasn't said verbatim but was reported and his inaction says so much so.

So where is this info. coming from?

NJ has to trust what denver tells them as far as this matter is concerned because they can't contact Melo himself (tampering). Maybe someone can shed some light on the legality of NJ being able to contact his agent.

Now from what I understood they have to agree to the trade and then NJ can legally contact Melo himself. Which would explain why no agreement on a deal has been made. Denver inquires about signing an extension with Melo when the deal is close and IMO he declines and they back away. They've backed off twice when the deal was almost set and made public reasons other than melo declining which would be the smart move, so when and if they deal with NY (more than likely the only team he will agree to extend with) their not in a compromised position from a negotiations stand point.

So every time I hear of these supposedly close trades falling through the only obvious answer to me is Melo won't sign an extension with NJ. Only one front office knows if the guy will sign an EXT. or not Denver.

I'm agreeing with that. I think her chatting and joking with her (many) Knicks fan friends means that she has no information that he is sold on or close to going to the Nets.

Ah, we'll see. I just don't trust Leon Rose and WWW -- who also said lebron was coming to the Knicks -- and I don't trust people turning down money.

As if she couldn't get similar in New Jersey especially with Jay-Z behind the radio/music industry and the impending move to BK. If those guidos and loosey goosies from Jersey Shore can get pub and bookings left and right I'm sure La La would have no problem getting radio/acting gigs locked up. Jason Kidd's wife got reporting gigs all the time.

The Nuggets can choose to involve the agent in trade talks. Now in Baseball, often the player is allowed to negotiate a deal/extension before he is dealt to the team. I assume that this is done after the deal is agreed by the teams. This is a little different because theres no sallary cap, but it's a bit similar being that it's a MAJOR part of the deal, just as it is in this one.

Why wouldn't they? Batum is a young Scottie Pippen while Chandler is a dime a dozen wing that is stat padding in D'Antoni's system.

Something needs to be done with this agency. Like no team should want to do business with any player who is a client of there's.

you're making me laugh bluest. you so don't want melo that you're taking the opposite view point on every topic in this thread. i think lala would actually prefer to be in la, i'm pretty sure she's said as much.

carmelo, just go in the damn office and be very respectful and say look I have been the good soldier, my wife is demanding me to goto NY or she will divorce me, please trade me to NY, it is the only place she will allow me to sign the extension for.

I don't think it's even got to that point. Beside I think they would want a player on their rookie contract and not about to be due a payday. Although if they got chandler they would get his bird rights and next year he would be cheap.

And no way walsh says no on chandler unless he has some inside info. You would be getting a guy who has played deep into the playoffs and can drop 25 in his sleep.

He could've already told him this in the first meeting. We don't know. And Denver sure as hell wouldn't want anyone too know.

I agree but moving to Jersey doesn't hurt her situation over New York if she had too is what I'm saying. Besides she's a stones throw away. They'd probably live(have a home) in the popular New Jersey area anyway like a lot of famous stars already do such as Oprah.
