Delusional Nuggets want Griffin for Melo

Post#1 » by Leor_77 » Wed Jan 12, 2011 12:15 am

I think that this is from Broussard. Can someone tell me...Is Denver is out of their F'ing mind?? The biggest joke is that if you go on some forums, people are saying things like Melo is way better than Griffin, not even taking into account this years performances of the two, contracts, age, etc.

Talk about a pipe dream.

Yep, i giggled a bit when i read that on the WT. Nuggets FO is new though i believe so in their defense, they don't know **** about how bad their position is.

I can't wait for them to actually get that 3 team trade set up with NJ only for melo to **** on their parade and tell NJ he won't sign an extension. Then it will force the nuggets to make an 11th hour trade to the knicks for peanuts or lose melo for nothing during the summer.

I just wish Kaman were healthy. Given how DJ is playing, I would be intrigued about sending Kaman + filler + pick for Melo. If only they could get over the injury thing. There is NO question that, when healthy, Kaman would be the best player that Denver could hope to get.

I guess after Blake & the Boys kicked Denver's Butt last Wednesday is why Denver wants Blake.
Hey Kroenke, go stock a Walmart, Blake is happy w/ the Clips

I don't think it's delusional at all.

You haven't even had a full year out of Griffin yet. Griffin jumps out of the gym, he's quick, and you can count on him for 20/10, but he's had two MAJOR knee surgery's one in college that I know of and one in the pros, he hasn't even played a full year yet and you're ready to give him keys to the city?

Lawson/Melo/JR Smith for Griffin in some package somehow someway. I'd do it yesterday. At least Lawson/Melo.

Doesn't matter anyway right, he's going to the East Coast with his smug smile and his dog of a wife.

Kaman and some picks for Melo, y'all dreaming.

Melo/Lawson for Griffin (main parts of the deal) is a solid deal IMO

No way would I trade Blake in any package for Melo (at least realistically feasible ones.) Bringing Melo to LA only works if you are able to pair him WITH Blake and EJ. You do throw in some additional player on the Denver side, but still that trade does nothing overall for the Clipper franchise. Blake is also a big draw too.

I'm not saying Blake is the best player in the NBA or anything, but imagine if he actually really learns and develops his game which is right now raw. Right now he is getting almost 22 and 13 per game, while shooting 52%. In his rookie season, after being out an entire year- those numbers are only going to get better in the years ahead.

I think the best model for Blake's potential development would be Karl Malone. Develop a mid-range game, a little more back-to-the basket but probably most dangerous facing the basket. Malone was bigger I think, but Blake's athleticism and hops are better. Especially his hops.
