GT: Spurs vs. Timberwolves

Post#1 » by Nolan » Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:24 am

When: 8:00 PM ET, January 11, 2011
Where: Target Center, Minneapolis, MN

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobli
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Dejuan Blair

Timberwolves:
PG - Luke Ridnour
SG - Wesley Johnson
SF - Michael Beasley
PF - Kevin Love
C - Darko Milicic

This is game two of a home and home against the Timberwolves and even though we're 3-0 against them this year this is going to be a very tough game. We've had nothing but trouble with them this year and the season series could very easily be 0-3. We haven't been able to stop Kevin Love yet this year but if we want to win this one we're going to have to try. Also we need to come out and match their energy level. I'd love to see Blair come out aggressive and really set the tone in this one.

Michael Beasley is questionable with a aggravated his sprained left ankle.

Go Spurs!!

Blair hasn't done much in the games vs Minny. Hope that changes.

How come we play these guys 4 times? I thought we only did that with teams in our division?

Anyways, hope we win but we don't match up well with this team. I forsee a loss.

I want to say a win, but judging by how the games has gone againts the Wolves, it's hard to think that we can always just come back from behind againts them. There's always a chance that we get too confident and the shots won't fall when we need it too.

I'm seeing a loss if Beasley plays. Without Beasley, I think they're too shorthanded. Wolves don't have enough offensive weapons to replace Beasley's scoring.

You play the teams from your division a guaranteed 4 times per season while you play the teams from the other two divisions inside your conference either 3 or 4 times (probably on a rotation basis over a couple of seasons). Thus, we sometimes play teams like Phoenix and the Lakers 3 times, other times - 4 times.

Its tough to say what Beasley will do. He originally tweaked his ankle in the Portland game, but decided it was good enough to go last game. He lasted only 11 minutes. Obviously as a Wolves fan I want him to play, especially since he'd give us a better chance at a home win against the NBA's best team, but I'm not sure its the right answer for Beasley and his health.

I'm interested in what your announcers are saying about the officiating tonight...

Well we won this one but I have to say the officiating was pretty terrible. That 3rd quarter was a complete mess, Ken Mauer is a douche.

Done.

Pretty ho-hum game, bad officiating as well. No Splitter again.

I had no idea Laimbeer was an assistant for the Wolves. I thought he coached in the WNBA or something.
