You guys are absolutely crazy for making predictions like that from a high school mix tape.

Adam Morrison balled it up in high school and College and he didn't turn out so well.

What? Can't make predictions out of a high school mix tape? Look at John Wall high school mix tape. he balled it up in high school and College and he turned out so well.

You can't look at somebodies mix tape in high school to judge how many points per game they will average in the NBA.
The better hoopmixtape doesn't mean the better the player.

Its a long shot to even predict college numbers, or NBA draft position.

What do you guys think about drafting Alec Burk if he is the BPA when we are drafting, and doesn't this guy the way he has come out of nowhere remind you Dwayne Wade in College... not highly recruited out of Highschool and soon as he gets to college he immediately dominates and is all sudden seen as lottery pick on most mock drafts. I know we have Derozen who in mind is more suited for small forward than shooting guard which is Alec Burk best position ...due to ball handling and superior outside shooting. Has anyone seen this kid play????

Strengths: Freshman with intriguing size/length and athleticism ... Late bloomer who displays a ton of promise ... Shows the prerequisite size and athleticism to play the shooting guard position at the NBA level ... An explosive leaper with excellent finishing ability ... A good scorer who shows the ability to effectively score in a variety of ways, extremely proficient for such a young player ... Very smooth in the open floor converting impressive dunks and ally oops with regularity ... Has a soft touch and deft body control allowing him to effectively convert drives to the rim ... Shows a quick first step and the speed to get by opponents off the dribble ... Has the makings of being an excellent outside shooter, getting great lift, a high release, fluid motion, plus he's a 78% ft shooter ... Solid vision and passing ability ... Despite a slight frame, shows aggressiveness attacking the rim. He'll likely be able to finish a lot better as he gains weight ... An excellent rebounder for a wing ... Coachable player who has made excellent strides in his short time at Colorado ... Appears to have a lot of room to add strength. Frame appears capable of adding 30 lbs or more ... Defensively he shows quick hands and feet, long arms, plus solid anticipation jumping passing lanes ... His one on one defensive ability will be enhanced by added strength, but he shows the makings of a strong defender with a willingness to improve

He does kind of remind me of Curry, but with a mix of Derek Rose's skill-set.

Flavour of the day... so this kid goes ahead of Kyrie Irving based on destroying weaker competition on highschool. Lets just wait and see how he does against better competition before crowning him #1, because of who his dad is ...

He's the #1 prospect out of high school. He's going in the 2012 draft. Your suggestion of "Lets just wait and see how he does against better competition before crowning him #1" can be applied to any of the top HS recruits.

Derozens skills as of now are better suited playing small forward than shooting guard...but if Derozen improves his shooting and ball handling than he would make an excellent shooting guard ..

I'm just saying I don't think the kid is not better than Kyrie Irving and from that mix tape he looks very weak even for highschooler .... Maybe 3 years in college, little bit more stregnth, than I would consider him top 10 prospect.

Until he ripped up his knee last week, I would have said Quincy Miller is the #1 prospect and would be first overall in 2012, and even now, Miller seems determined to make lemonade out of his injury, working on his upper body development, etc.

The problem I have with Austin Rivers is that he looks to just finish with his right hand. He needs to work on his left A LOT.

Assuming we get the number 1 pick in this years draft, we of course draft Kyrie Irving.

Now assuming we dont get him, we look to add some star power on the wing. I would put Harrison Barnes at the top of my draft list.

But there is one player that would be perfect for this team aside from those 2... Fab Melo! He is atrue 7 foot Centre and thats exactly what this team needs. He likes to play in the post, block shots and just intimidate guys.

I would go as far as to trade Bargnani + Mia 1st for another top 5 pick for him.

T. Jones kills it tonight. His stat line - 35 Pts, 8 Reb, 3 Stl, 2 Blk, whoa!

I dig with the Barnes pick, even though he struggles now but maybe he'll work really hard in the nba and end up being the player everyone expected him to be. With his shooting touch and DD's slashing ability, that may turn out to be a solid 1-2 punches in the SG and SF position for the Raptors. If not the Barnes pick, then one of those Jones would be aite too.

Top 10 seems fair, its way to early to tell. Trying to scout players from mixtapes while 2 years out of the NBA is very hard. One of those guys in the background could easily turn out better, 2 years is a long time. He doesn't dominate as much as anybody really special did in HS. (Kobe, Bron)

I think if we get 1st overall we trade down a pick and take who ever is left. I think Barnes is the better prospect and fits our needs more, but Irving is very talented. I'm fine with either.

Have you been following college basketball at all this year? I am a huge Syracuse fan and Melo has been a major disappointment.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/pr ... erId=51343

Melo has been a complete dud and disaster at Syracuse.

He is averaging 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds. He is averaging 7 minutes a game in Big East play, and is losing his minutes to another freshmen Baye Moussa Keita who was a borderline top 100 recruit.

Boehiem essentially gives him Araujo minutes. He starts the halfs, sucks, and sits has ass down for the rest of the game.

He is a multiple year project. He is a borderline NCAA player right now, much less NBA player.

Trade down the 1st overall pick, umm sure let's do that.
