Frank Isola cites a source familiar with the negotiations in reporting that discussions between the Knicks and Nuggets are ongoing and that New York still stands a 50-50 chance of landing Carmelo Anthony by trade.

"He'd like to play in New York," said the source. "But I don't see anything happening soon."

The Nets are heavily pursuing completion of a three-team trade for Anthony but Isola's source indicates that no deal is imminent on that front.

Asked whether Anthony would sign a long-term contract extension to play for the Nets, the source did not give a definitive answer.

"It hasn't gotten to that point yet. He's willing to listen to them if he gets close," said the source.

I think he's referring to the article where it was mentioned we're a 50/50 chance because according to KG Leon is the source.

It's true, Broussard says he has agreed to do so...didn't say he was traded, just that he would sign the extension. Trade still has to be made. Honestly, if Melo is willing to leave Denver to go to one of the worst teams in the league, let him. We can score, Melo would be an amazing bonus but fills no need. Let him have fun in Newark for 2 years and be second banana to Amare and Co for the rest of his career. A capped out Nets team with Billups and Rip sounds terrible.

No he isn't lying, I just saw it too. It was very quick, Steve Levy said something about how Melo hasn't even told his family or agents, etc, but he will sign the extension. According to "numerous sources." Whatever that means, again. Let's wait and see. If he wants to go to NJ, let him.
