Perry Jones had his best game tonight - 10 of 13 shooting, 25 pts, 7 reb, 2 blks

He was all over the place, dunking 3 or 4 times on the fast break, teammates find him open in the lane for couple more dunks. He knocked down several jumpers, hustled to the boards for put backs. And he played a bit of defense near the end of the half, had active hands and had a huge block on some random dude. His only flaw of the game is the rebounding, several times his opponent outworked him to the board, he should have had 10 reb easily but only 7 tonight. But overall, the baylor used him more tonight.

Jimmer Fredrette had 47 pts on 16-28 FGs, 6-9 3pt FG, 7-7 FT...might he be someone we consider with the MIA pick? He's avging 24 ppg on the season at the PG spot.

His stock prolly rises even more now after this game. I think he'll be drafted in the mid 20s, no chance for us.

Yeah, dude just got an interview on SportsCenter, and he just overtook Kemba Walker as the nation's leading scorer.
He probably will have a very tough time defensively at the next level. But, Jimmer can play - he's a pretty skilled player.

I watched Terrence Jones first time yesterday and man- I hope we end up with this kid. A perfect compliment to the young guys we already have! Impressed with the fire he plays with as well.

We gotta lose some games

I havn't seen the guy play. But I'm not understanding how you can predict a guy will be drated at ~25 at this stage and that means there's no chance to get him at 30.

Fab Melo Update

1 Pt, 2 Rebs

Let's use a top 5 pick on this guy,

Sorry to pick on the guy who posted the idea -- its just that Melo has been far from fabulous this year. Such a disappointment.

Yes it is. A very rediculous one.

Here are some of the highlights of Fredette's 47 pt night vs. Utah.

JIMMERMANIA FTW

There was a wide-ranging discussion on Twitter regarding Fredrette's NBA prospects - Jon Givony in particular had some interesting remarks, but it mainly comes down to whether or not he can defend his position at the next level.

Personally, I'm a fan of Fredrette. I'd take him at 29 if he's available...and I don't think he'll be.

Stay tuned for Chad Ford's article on Fredette coming up Friday for more on him.

Everybody will complain BC drafts "Euros" and we won't be better at defense.

I would rather another Solomon type pick with our Miami first. Don't be surprised if we use that pick to trade up in the draft.

I actually mentioned him when we started this thread and you are absolutely right, he's sucking it up horribly well. Thought the guy could've been a potential big man target due to his size/length and playing on a decent Cuse team but I guess I was wrong.

It's a shame that these taller guys don't work out more often than they do.

Anyone seen Lucas Nogueira play yet? I keep hearing / reading good things about him. Could he be a potential big man target with the Miami pick or will he be gone before that?

Ya I'm really interested in hearing as well. Sounds like someone who we should be targeting. Maybe he's going to be this year's DeAndre Jordan/McGee/Whiteside.

I agree because Chad Ford said he'd put Fredette in his Top 20, but a lot of scouts wouldn't. Thing is, the last half dozen picks of the first round are pretty much a crap shoot where you look for a high end role player rather than a starter. Maybe Fredette would have trouble defending his position, but a high IQ guy like him will at least learn how to minimize the damage, and his offence will keep those faster star point guards working on the other end. Steve Nash can't defend very well, but he too helps negate that with tremendous offensive skills that force teams to guard him. Fredette, as a bench player for someone, will come in and give you instant offence like Barbosa (who doesn't defend much either), and as a very good shooter, he might be able to minimize the number of transition baskets the other team gets simply by not missing shots short.

Fredette was impressive last year too. This kid seems like a worker, not incredibly big or fast but he has a crazy nice jump-shot and his body looks chiseled as hell.

I'd definitely be interested in him with a later pick.

UNC vs. VT game was fun to watch tonight, UNC and barnes played like **** first half but came back strong, Barnes had gone cold till the last 2-3 mins coming out of nowhere, knocking down a clutch fad-away J and 2 clutch 3's to keep the game close and UNC gets the victory at the end. HB scored 8 pts in the final 2 minutes.

HB - 12 pts, 5 of 10 shooting, 2 of 5 from downtown, 6 reb, 6 to (yeah ugly)

Singleton and Kanter are two off the top.
