If you were Carmelo, would you be desperate to goto a team that was 10-27?

The Nets are 10-27 right now.

The 8th seed of the playoffs is usually around 40 wins. To get to 40 wins.... and make the playoffs they would need to go 30-15.

Most likley between 2 and 5 teams will achieve that through the first 45 games this season.

And if this waits another week or two, they may be even more out of it, and then next season RIP or Billups or whoever is another year older.

If you were Carmelo would this excite you?

Melo/Lopez combo would be SICK.

Lopez is overrated. Even Avery Johnson was taking shots at him today saying he is soft because he can't get 10 boards.

At rebounding. But he's a superior offensive threat on the inside and will open up the perimeter for Rip and Melo to devastate their opponents. Plus Lopez has never had the opportunity to play with a facilitator as strong as Billups, he's like the best PG in the league. They are easily a 60 win team.

I think Big E was being sarcastic (I hope). There are so many center's or SF's or PF's that I would rather have than Brook it would be a waiste of my time to even debate it. Melo would be a good teamate and open things up for Brook a little but the Nets may not even make the playoffs, with Melo or without. They would have to completley run the table. If the Nets keep losing, and deepeing in the hole they are in (in terms of making the playoffs... They would have to play at nearly .800 basketball

No, I'm trying to sell this pitch to Mikhail so he can then try to pitch it to Melo. I'm going to be rich.

He said it was a friend of melo's. But honestly melo never said he would sign an ext. if you read between the lines. Denver just doesn't want that to get out publicly. Denver is the only front office that can speak with him so they can filter the info. as they please.

I think he just listens to too many of his sources and gets 765589404505 different answers.

That's the thing that gets me - how did he have sources 2 days ago telling him Melo was on board with NJ, and now he has sources saying Melo never said that. Does he just go to a bar in Denver and write down people's opinions?

Speaking of wiretap - Am I the only one having this problem? When I'm on the Knicks forum or even the RealGM Basketball homepage, the wiretap is not updated...It still has the old news of Love talking about possibly leaving the Wolves, Mayo/Allen fight over card game, etc.

The only time I can see the wiretap updated is when I go to www.realgm.com

When I first heard the trade idea for DET/DEN/NJ I got concerned because I heard Rip and Billups to NJ, but then I realized that both of them piqued about 5 years ago.

I don't believe Melo wants to play for another non-contender. I think his displeasure with the Nuggets has been there inability to put players around him that will win a championship. If history serves us right, the best way to win a championship is with a dominant big man. Duncan, KG, Pau to some extent, Wallaces. Amar'e is by far one of the best front court players in the league right now.

If we can retain Chandler, a combination of Chandler/Melo/Amare could be our version of KG/Pierce/Allen and we'd be young with a pretty good point guard in Felton. We're close to unstoppable with that squad, and that's the honest truth. I'm sure Melo knows that.

That Melo trade to NJ has NJ not going to the playoffs this year, or even the next 3 years. Melos not an idiot.
