He Tweeted it too and it's on Wiretap now.

Speaking of wiretap - Am I the only one having this problem? When I'm on the Knicks forum or even the RealGM Basketball homepage, the wiretap is not updated...It still has the old news of Love talking about possibly leaving the Wolves, Mayo/Allen fight over card game, etc.

The only time I can see the wiretap updated is when I go to http://www.realgm.com

Same thing with me

Only guy im listening to now is Broussard.

Adande, Wojo, Stein, etc. are all dumbasses and never once, mentioned the Knicks in trade talks when they were on Sportscenter.

Well, whatever the case may be, I don't think the Nets (who most likley are not going to make the playoffs unless they get Melo TONIGHT) and with aging players added (RIP,Billups) will entice Melo by the least bit.

I would say a more likley sceniro would be for the Nuggets to try to deal with someone else who will be willing to give up assets and who Carmelo wants to play for.... oh yeah that's the Knicks, maybe they will call Donnie mac.

I don't believe Melo wants to play for another non-contender. I think his displeasure with the Nuggets has been there inability to put players around him that will win a championship. If history serves us right, the best way to win a championship is with a dominant big man. Duncan, KG, Pau to some extent, Wallaces. Amar'e is by far one of the best front court players in the league right now.

If we can retain Chandler, a combination of Chandler/Melo/Amare could be our version of KG/Pierce/Allen and we'd be young with a pretty good point guard in Felton. We're close to unstoppable with that squad, and that's the honest truth. I'm sure Melo knows that.

That Melo trade to NJ has NJ not going to the playoffs this year, or even the next 3 years. Melos not an idiot.

Not sure if serious.

I have no source close to Melo and I could have told Broussard the same thing.

He said it was a friend of melo's.

That's the thing that gets me - how did he have sources 2 days ago telling him Melo was on board with NJ, and now he has sources saying Melo never said that. Does he just go to a bar in Denver and write down people's opinions?

Reporters get duped just as much as anyone else and they definitely get used to get info. out and have to believe it too be true even though they might deep down inside think it isn't.

On the "decision" his body language reeked of someone who had been taken on a ride. I kind of felt some compassion for him towards the end and afterwards. He got used and it must have sucked. But that's his job and those are his sources.

You know CAA used and WWW used him amongst other reporters.

+ azu/mason and take harrington off from them

thats really not a bad deal given the situation

We don't have to do them any favors. They can suck it. I give my deal or nothing.

eh, i think the cash savings would make them more amenable to do a deal, and if it allows this team to keep fields, WC, the summer goodies, its not a bad deal at all

NO AL HARRINGTON!

Chandler, A.R., Curry, Pick, Cash, Mason. Chandler/'Melo are too similar of players to play along side each other. Gallo stretches the floor for 'Melo/Amar'e to operate.

Come on man.... Allen was playoff tested, KG played deep into the finals and even pierce played in the playoffs..... Chandler? Hasn't.... don't compare those three to the celtics three. The celtic three were proven vets partner.

Just accept Al. He wanted to stay here. He fits the offense well. I don't know why everyone is so anti-Al, he played pretty well here.

to recap, Broussard on ESPN just now

"several people, one of whom said Melo has never told anyone that he would sign with NJ...the feeling is from the people that i've talked to that Melo wants to go to NY Knicks period. And they would be stunned if he went to NJ..even if they come to an agreement, there's overwhelming evidence Melo would just say no''

^^^^Sure it probably is. But last off-season was like no other. Dude got taken for a ride. And he had to keep pumping out the info. just for the sake of doing it and impressing his employer.

All these guys sources are flaky which is why I like to try and read between the lines. It drew me too the conclusion that both the uth-nj-den trade and the more recent den-nj-det trade rumors didn't go through because they didn't get the ok from melo or his agent not the reasons that were made public because they are the denver F/O is the only camp that has legal access to melo... they're the only ones who are going to know.

Amar'e has played deep into the playoffs. Allen played as much into the playoffs as Melo prior to the Celtics. Pierce had what significant playoff history prior? His amazing playoff runs with Antoine Walker?

Also, our big three wouldn't be a combined 114 years old.

ibraheim718 wrote:I want to bring up an angle that maybe hasn't been discussed.

It's about the rumor that Melo would agree to sign an extension with NJ.

He never once has said he would sign an extension with any one team publicly. So we know it didn't come from him. What he has said though is that he would not sign the extension to stay in Denver. This wasn't said verbatim but was reported and his inaction says so much so.

So where is this info. coming from?

NJ has to trust what denver tells them as far as this matter is concerned because they can't contact Melo himself (tampering). Maybe someone can shed some light on the legality of NJ being able to contact his agent.

Now from what I understood they have to agree to the trade and then NJ can legally contact Melo himself. Which would explain why no agreement on a deal has been made. Denver inquires about signing an extension with Melo when the deal is close and IMO he declines and they back away. They've backed off twice when the deal was almost set and made public reasons other than melo declining which would be the smart move, so when and if they deal with NY (more than likely the only team he will agree to extend with) their not in a compromised position from a negotiations stand point.

So every time I hear of these supposedly close trades falling through the only obvious answer to me is Melo won't sign an extension with NJ. Only one front office knows if the guy will sign an EXT. or not Denver.

Read the bold again.... I posted this earlier today.

The deals don't go through because the kid shoots them down and only denver gets this info.
