Ira Winderman: Camelo Anthony is ready for Thursday. "I'll be here playing against Miami. Guarantee you that." about 28 minutes ago

I still have no idea why NOT ONCE any other ESPN reporters besides Broussard said anything about the Knicks being in trade talks.

I don't know if they just hate us or they just have some garbage "sources".

It's about the rumor that Melo would agree to sign an extension with NJ.

So every time I hear of these supposedly close trades falling through the only obvious answer to me is Melo won't sign an extension with NJ. Only one front office knows if the guy will sign an EXT. or not Denver.

Read the bold again.... I posted this earlier today.

The deals don't go through because the kid shoots them down and only denver gets this info.

Agreed. Let's just hope Denver does not try to get other teams involved and make us wait until 2/24, or holds onto him.

As real as Broussard's story most likely is, since we all know it's the truth, the dude was flip flopping on Lebron's destination every day over the free agent period.

Hell, the same can be said for the media as a whole. At first, I took these tweets as big developments, but after the Lebron and Melo sagas, I've become desensitized to it. I won't be happy until he's a Knick.
Don't get it Twisted.

Amar'e has played deep into the playoffs. Allen played as much into the playoffs as Melo prior to the Celtics. Pierce had what significant playoff history prior? His amazing playoff runs with Antoine Walker?

Also, our big three wouldn't be a combined 114 years old.

Yeah but friend Amare almost always came up short in the playoffs. Tell me one big shot he has hit in the post season? He ain't that killer... Against LA he had one big STat like game last year.... Chandler hasn't played in one single playoff game.... not a single meaningful playoff stretch regular season game. Melo has shown he can be that dominant force in a playoff series. But KG.... dude was knocking on the doorstep prior to going to boston. Ray had been in his battles against Kobe in the early playoff rounds in seattle. I think he even played in the playoffs in milwaukee. You just can't compare them. Now if the comparison was CP3,melo and Amare that's different.

Now we should move our concern to what we have to give up.

Do we think a 1st Rd Pick, Chandler, Curry, Azubuike, Mason Jr. gets it done? Or do we have to deal Douglas too.

And we can take on either Al's contract, or JR's.

You're crazy - Amar'e destroyed Tim Duncan in the playoffs. Couldn't destroy the refs though.

How many years did it take KG to get out of the first round? It wasn't until he had Sam Cassell and Sprewell playing alongside him that the Wolves made any significant run in the playoffs. So don't tell me KG carried the Wolves ever in the playoffs. It's a team concept, through and through. You can't win by yourself. KG's offensive skill set is incredibly comparable to Amar'e's at the same age. Perimeter jump shot and all. Amar'es been to the playoffs five times now, and one of the years averaged close to 30 points in the playoffs. You can't say KG > Amar'e, because it's a wash. KG only gets the edge from fans and the media because he's an insufferable D I C K, and people mistake that for some kind of leadership quality.

Ray Allen Vs. Carmelo is no contest. Melo is a more versatile player than Allen. Ray is great, no doubt about it, and better overall shooter, but Melo's offensive skill set is more refined. And their playoff experience is comparable prior to Ray on the Celtics. I think NY gets the edge there.

Clearly Pierce has had more playoff experience than Chandler, but, I mean, seriously? Pierce was not whatever he manifested himself to be after the Big Three title was handed to the Celtics. I remember how awful the Celtics were when Pierce had Walker and we were competing against them for the 8th seed. If Boston hadn't acquired KG and Allen we wouldn't even be talking about Pierce today. I compare Wilson and Pierce because I don't believe Paul Pierce was some kinda playoff tested player before everyone came over to the Celtics. Their offensive skill sets are pretty similar at the same age, though Pierce I think had a better stroke. Given some more off seasons I think Chandler will improve his penetrations. I think Paul is a better player than Chandler, and obviously had some playoff experience (lol), so Boston gets the edge.

The most important part is the youth. We'll still have time to gel, and grow, and it might result in a stronger Big Three. I do believe we'd be more effective than the Miami Heat with that team. Maybe not this year, but probably next year. Assuming there is no lock out.

And CP3 is overrated.

I saw Melo tweet a shout out to that guy that makes all those Seth Rogan movies about getting LA LA into a movie. While I think Lala might not be calling the shots, any husband wants whats best for his wife and family. Lala has a career, too, and apart from NY or LA there is no other city that has the opportunities for both of them to be successful. Obviously NY gets the edge because Lala is from there, Melos from the east coast.

I can't imagine any athlete not wanting to play in NY. Especially someone so drawn to the limelight like Melo. AND he can win here.

After hearing Carmelo Anthony(notes) express public doubts over the New York Knicks’ desire and need for him, Amar’e Stoudemire(notes) reached out to tell the Denver Nuggets star that he “wants him in New York,” a league source told Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday.

The Knicks’ forward recently contacted Anthony via text message with a two-fold agenda: Make sure Anthony knows that Stoudemire himself wants Anthony at his side, and push Anthony to resist a proposed trade to the New Jersey Nets. Stoudemire is sensitive to public suggestions that he would prefer to play without a Madison Square Garden co-star and has repeatedly expressed that to Anthony.

For now, the Nets stay in the discussions for Anthony, but the Knicks are still lurking in the distance. Amar’e Stoudemire sent one more message to the Nuggets star, and it was simple: Let’s do this, ’Melo.

How is that not tampering? Can Donnie tell Felton to call Camby and tell Camby to demand a trade to the Knicks because we need a center ?

Those two are friends........... You really think one guy sending his pal a text can ever be considered tampering? It's not like he's disclosing financial info or speaking directly on behalf of Donnie.. Amare can say whatever the hell he wants to his bud...what's next, they can't go out to dinner/party too?

and damn Woj, those must be some pretty damn good sources for you to be able to tell us Amare sent Melo a text, let alone what the **** thing said.....think about it realistically, even if it did happen, why would anyone outside the two, other than maybe LaLa, ever know about something like that.

Stern already said that tampering does not occur between two players.
