Chandler isn't going anywhere. He's an RFA and, unless a team is willing right now to commit 50 mm for him, they would never deal for him. You take Gallo and hope you he's happy so he resigns with your team after his rookie deal is up. Gallo/Fields/AR...I seriously hope we can keep Fields.

Wilson Chandler really has no leverage for him to protest the trade. He can say he doesn't want to play in denver, but they have the ability to match any offer. At minimum, he'll be forced to sign a QO with denver and since they're rebuilding, they are likely to deal him somewhere else.

I wouldnt be so quick to trade wilson for a C... AT LEAST this year ride it out and see how mozgov develops and maybe we wont need a C or can find a defensive minded one in the draft. Wilson would be the perfect 6th man on a true contender and then dantoni could always play a melo-wilson-amare front line when we need points or against smaller teams...

Maybe we can work out a 3 team deal where they get Chandler.

Would portland do WC for NBatum+1rst rounder? If so, I can see

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4e696dc

New York Knicks trade:
Wilson Chandler (to portland)
Bill Walker (to portland)
Eddy Curry (to denver)
Shawne Williams (to denver)
2011 first round pick (acquired by trading ARandolf; to denver)
2014 first round pick (NY Knicks to denver)
2011 second round pick (NY Knicks to portland)

Denver Nuggests trade:
Carmelo Anthony (to NY)

Portland Trailblazers trade:
Nicolas Batum (to denver)
Rudy Fernandez (to NY)
2011 first round pick (portland to denver)

I'm pretty sure that it was said that Batum would only be traded for a player of his caliber AND a first...not a player of his caliber for Batum+first.

ALSO

Does anyone know if Denver waits until the offseason if it would still get a trade exception? I think I read that they would not be eligible for one because they would be under the cap...can anyone clarify this? Thanks.

False for Sacramento. Garcia and Casspi are very capable. You won't find any Kings fans willing to break the bank for Chandler. Is he an upgrade? Probably. But we have more pressing weaknesses to address with our cap space.

Knicks should offer Randolph, Gallo and our 2014 pick. Bill Walker and/or second round picks to sweeten. I wouldn't even put TD in the deal if it can be helped.

Wilson Chandler is not of the same caliber as Batum. He's much better in just about every way

Great point. They should send Outlaw with a pick. And then use another pick to dump Petro. lol And finally one to move Farmar.

Back to even.

The lack of Rod Thorn REALLY shows.

I also loved hearing about how Melo has noticed that Lopez is regressing. Guy is playing badly.

I am the only knicks fan who was not impressed with Rudy last night? This is the guy who's been complaining about playing time? The guy who wanted to be traded? The guy some fans here wanted us to trade wilson for?

Did you guys know that Batum is 22 and Chandler is 23? I would want Batum, Fernandez and a first to trade them Chandler. Even then I would have to consider what kind of pick that first is.

Not for nothing but best thing that happened to us was Thorn stepping down of that franchise. He probably would have Melo right now if he was still there.

Exactly. Batum is definitely a nice talent. Got to like that size and the smoothness of his game. But he's far from at the level that Wilson is at and keep remembering that Wilson is 23. 23!

I don't get the Wilson stuff. The man has become a very reliable scorer and does everything well. No, he's not oozing with natural talent the way a Rudy Gay is but that is overrated. He is talented enough and if his jumper keeps getting better, he's a borderline All-Star.

People on another thread were saying that Wilson hasn't gotten better. ORLY? The guy is making difficult mid-range jumpers from the wings with men in his face, his drive keeps getting more polished and effective, and he's hitting 38% from 3. He's much, much better than last year.

And he's 23.
