yea but that doesnt mean theyd give all that for wilson...
each team values its own players at a higher value...
not to say i think your wrong cus i feel wilson is def much better and dont even see how batum has the slighest potential to ever really be better but im just saying...
i think everyone around the league knows portland holds batum on a high pedestal

I am the only knicks fan who was not impressed with Rudy last night? This is the guy who's been complaining about playing time? The guy who wanted to be traded? The guy some fans here wanted us to trade wilson for?
Agreed. Rudy made some shots but he looks like a chucker who is not really an effective NBA player. Thinks he's better than he is and is not a starter, so would have to be a good role player but won't ever adjust his game to that. Basically garbage.

Great point. They should send Outlaw with a pick. And then use another pick to dump Petro. lol And finally one to move Farmar.
Back to even.
The lack of Rod Thorn REALLY shows.
I also loved hearing about how Melo has noticed that Lopez is regressing. Guy is playing badly.
Not for nothing but best thing that happened to us was Thorn stepping down of that franchise. He probably would have Melo right now if he was still there.
I was very relieved when Thorn left NJ. And I believe he did it because he was not comfortable with Prohkorov. He's too professional to say that is why he left, but deep down I believe that's exactly why he left. And the moves they're making, the way they're negotiating publicly -- I don't think he would have done any of it.

He seems like he would be okay off the bench (maybe) in this system. But he is no where near on Wilson's level. Looking back I'm kind of insulted that portland asked so much for him. Dudes game still hasn't adjusted to the NBA tempo

I no longer would be too disappointed to lose Gallo. I think Gallo is going to be a good NBA player and he's a talent, has guts, and plays the right way, with swag and the desire to take big shots. But it's hard to see how we would miss him terribly if we are able to retain Wilson too.
Unless Gallo can develop a post-up game, I don't think he'll be great. His ability to finish some dunks and draw fouls, and all that size, make him a very good prospect. But dealing him for Melo is a no-brainer.

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 8] - NJ Gets Threats From Denver!
The biggest need for melo is come playoff time crunch time offense is usually a lot of isolation and one on one.. we dont have a true wing who can do that for us and create his own shot off the dribble or get to the line.. maybe after a healthy offseason where wilson can work on his handle he can get to that level being that he is only 23, but as of now not one of our wings can match up with the paul pierces, lebrons, wade and kobes to go shot for shot in the final 3 minutes of a playoff game... Melo is that man and he is a must... If amare was 25 I'd be more patient in hoping for gallo or chandler to develop that skill but we are a team on the brink... being in melo and a defensive big and we could play with anybody...
Lets see how it all plays out in the next few weeks.

I just think Coach D'Antoni will find a way to take Melo to another level. Karl's offense is so blah and stagnant compared to ours...Imagine how many open mid range jumpers melo would get in this offense...how do you guard amare, felton, and melo?!

I'm with you...I'll be sad to see him go probably leading up to the first Melo game. I'm thinking we'll all forget pretty quick.

If we could somehow retain a core of Amare, Melo, Felton, Chandler, and Fields, we'd be VERY competitive for a long time to come. Add Camby or T. Chandler to that mix, plus an inexpensive backup PG, and we're talking championship contender.
Really? Jared Jeffries. Seriously?

“Y’all will have another interview with me Thursday,” Anthony told reporters. “I guarantee you that.”

Somewhat out-of-the-blue question: Being that Earl Monroe and Dick McGuire both have #15 retired by the Knicks, and Dave DeBusschere has #22 (Melo's high school jersey #) retired, if Melo came to the Knicks, what jersey number might he wear? Does anyone know why he wears #15 (NCAA, NBA, and USA) as is?

The above bold is the dynamic that everyone should pay attention to when considering a Melo acquisition or free agent signing. It's also a Psychological edge and/or respect component that becomes part of this team. Miami, LA, Orlando, etc. will look at us differently subconsciously. Miami and LA feel superior right now. You add Melo to this team and that superiority becomes "I think we're better but where not superior". A player of Melo's caliber takes us to that contention level. Not to mention, Melo has been overlooked because of Lebron on some levels in his mind and I'm sure he would take playing Miami in particular personally. If Melo truly wants to be a Knick get yourselves ready people. The Knick-Miami rivalry will be back and on it's way to new heights!
Hopefully Moz can figure it out so we don't have to find a center. I think TD has a chance to become that back up that we need. Time will tell...

#9
Gilbert Arenas hinted that Carmelo would change his number to 9. Not sure how he knows...I guess take it with a grain of salt.

There was some blogger who said he was changing his number to 9 next year so I think it'll be 9. Not sure why he wears 15 though.
