Anyone who says "Free Steve Nash" is really, really dumb. Sorry.
For the last time, there are NO good scenarios for this. By using the word "free", you mean to send him to a contender. There are four, maybe five contending teams. We're NOT trading him to the Lakers, Boston doesn't need him, Miami doesnt need him AND they don't have the pieces to get him, we just dealt with Orlando and they dont have the pieces to get him, and we're not trading him to the Spurs.
Please, let's stop this **** as if he's a prisoner of war or something. He's an athlete who loves Phoenix and the medical staff here, and is making millions of dollars playing basketball.
Drop the hyperbole.

is not just about trading Nash..................
This team is going nowhere fast, Nash and the other old dudes will block development of the youngsters. Its time to look long term....Nash/Hill/Carter are not that, they are good for another 2-3 years which should be spent elsewhere. What's best for the team is to trade these guys while they are still assets (I know Carter is not much of an asset) to trigger the development of whatever youngsters we bring back via trades/draft.
Last thing I want to see is us draft a pg like Kemba or Knight only to them get blocked by our 38 year olds.

I just went through the points that they may be assets, but that doesnt mean any possible trade destinations have anything proper to give up. Carter's a bigger asset than Nash right now because of his expiring contract, and no obligation to "trade him to a contender" .
We need a point guard, a PF, and a pick in return for Nash. Bottom line. None of those destinations are logical.

What does everyone think of this?
We keep Nash?
Do we make the playoffs?
Do you think it would work for everyone?
Just curious thanks.

It only makes sense to rebuild now if they are getting back what they want for Nash&Co and then sign some FAs.
Otherwise they should just collect players (draft picks 2011, 2012) and let them play through all mistakes before the draft worth tanking (after Nash's contract expire).
Without Nash, Suns will really suck. Why deepen and extend that pain for a crappy deal? And look through Sarver's eyes; financial crisis, income, Nash, etc...
Just fix a preseason mistake and bring in a decent PF Nash could work with. Keep the core of competitors (D'Antoni rotations) with good chemistry for next year and do some other moves for the future.
