The latest news regarding the ongoing Melo-drama is that the proposed three-team deal with the Nets and Pistons could go down this weekend. Fred Kreber of the New York Post blogged that several league sources believe the deal will happen this weekend. Meanwhile, Chris Broussard at ESPN posted on Twitter that the Knicks are trying to get the Grizzlies to include O.J. Mayo in a different three-team scenario.
There was no word about Melo signing an extension with the Nets, which has been keeping them from acquiring Anthony. As of right now, Carmelo still wants to go to the Knicks, while the Nuggets prefer the offer from New Jersey. New rumors are surfacing constantly, but for now nothing can be said with certainty.

Solid Deal for all teams

Knicks: Save fields, randolph and chandler but give up Moz and toney d but realistically they arent such great players, atleast compared to Chandler, Fields

Memphis: Sheds Thabeets Salary. Gets some nice pieces in Douglas and Mozgov to develop. and Bill Walkers been solid.

Denver: They get a first rounder, they get Mayo, they get Gallo, they shed crazy salary but dumping Harrington and Balkman for Curry and Azuibuikes insured contract. Dont see how they can say no

I do think if we give up Gallo we'd need to bring in Al for as a spot up 3 man.

Yeah the Knicks are sorely lacking in that department.

Boy from a talent stand point Memphis gets Fcked in that deal lol, dont see this one happening.

Does Melo not have a spine? Why would he do what his agents want? I seriously think this whole thing with Rose and WWW is being over stated by a guy who just needs stuff to write about.

Here is the article on the DEN/NY/MEM trade

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/ ... pn_6019859

The Knicks have tried to engage Denver in trade talks all season, but the Nuggets, unmoved by the players New York has to offer, have been unwilling to partake in significant discussions. Sources, however, say that is changing as the Nuggets themselves wonder whether Anthony is willing to go to New Jersey.

Why does everyone think hes gonna walk to free agency? Uriji didnt know Bosh was going to leave, But now hes for sure Carmelo isent coming back. Is he really willing to be known as the GM That let 2 superstars walk for nothing?

I think in the end hes going to get traded to the knicks sometime in the upcoming weeks, The trade is going to be around Gallo and some other pieces. Denver isent going to give up their Superstar just so they can get a large trade exception.

And Denver knows he would come here via free agency anyway, What would be the point of not trading him here? Denver's GM Isent going to let him go to Free Agency rather then trade him to us just because he wants to spite us, how does that help his image or their team at all?

Hes going to be a Knick people, No way he becomes a Net he knows he will never do anything with the Nets. The Garden and a chance to play for a NBA Championship is calling to him. If we get him and a somewhat legit center for the MLE we have a Championship contending team.

Denver gets Curry, Mayo, and Walker, 11 pick from Minny and 14 pick from us.
Denver sends Melo and Harrington.

Memphis sends Mayo.
Memphis gets Gallo.

Minny sends Telfair and 11 pick.
Minny gets AR, Azu and 3 million from NY.

NY sends Curry, Azu, AR, Gallo, Walker and 14 pick.
NY gets Melo and Al.

Denver also saves 5.8 million in luxury taxes + saves on remaining salaries. They get Mayo, Walker and two picks in the process.

Pretty sure Denver is gonna want chandler over walker, i dont see ur proposed trade happening.

when it comes down to it, I think chandler will be going to denver.. knicks will have melo, won't have to worry about overpaying chandler next year... plus denver wants money savings.. they can let chandler walk, or if they feel he is worth signing, give him a decent deal....

lol i posted a trade with Ny, Denver and Memphis with Ny getting Thabeet and Melo, Denver getting OJ mayo, AR, Curry and Ronny, future 1st from us. Memphis getting Fields, Gallo, TD and Harrington (overpaying so that they can take harrington), maybe add a pick. Something like that. I wonder if there is any truth to getting memphis involved. Will be very interesting to see what comes of that.

lol you know we will all complain regardless. We get Melo and then lose a game to the Celtics or Miami and everyone will be like see we shouldnt have traded our young players for Melo, he isnt he missing piece to this team. Melo doesnt play defense. lol its going to happen if he lands here.

I also keep hearing how much better chandler is than the rest of the knicks, yet the only players traded are gallo and or fields to some extent..

Really? so denver is going to ask for the lesser talent? and if they ask for chandler, we are goingto say no? people are letting their emotions rule here and are trying to have it both ways...

Bill Simmons for the win:

Let's start here.

2004: $3,229,200
2005: $3,471,360
2006: $3,713,640
2007: $4,694,041
2008: $13,041,250
2009: $14,410,581
2010: $15,779,912
2011: $17,149,243

That's how much money the Denver Nuggets have paid Carmelo Anthony: about $75.5 million. I found this information on the Internet, so it has to be true. Including endorsements, the 26-year-old Carmelo has easily passed the $100 million mark. His contract also allows a "player option" for next season worth $18,518,575 million. Guaranteed. This is not someone who should be making crucial career decisions based on money.

And yet, by accepting a long-rumored trade to New Jersey, he would be crapping on his legacy for a few extra bucks. It wouldn't be a normal crap, either; more like one of those "Dumb and Dumber" poops in which he nearly got blown off the bowl. After four months of behind-the-scenes posturing to become a Knick -- at the expense of Denver's season and his eight-year relationship with Nuggets fans, no less -- how could Anthony possibly settle for a 10-28 team in Jersey? Because it's near New York? Because it's almost like playing for the Knicks? Because they're moving to Brooklyn in two years? Because Jay-Z owns 1 percent more of the Nets than my dog does?
