Is this not the same exact trade that the entire world has been talking about for the last 3 weeks? I'm confused.

I guess you slammed your head too hard on your desk, that's why you are confuse.

The trade people have been talking doesn't include Al Harrington. So yeah, this might be a different one, if it's true.

If that comment is in response to the one I wrote about you on the trade board, in which you were claiming that RIP is worth more than the package we were being offered, then I'll laugh again.

Please don't act like you're a representative of this team on the trade boards, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that some of your posts make me want to bang my head against a desk. With all due respect, it's clear as day that you don't have a great understanding of player talent, and how to evaluate it.

Like claiming that Greg Monroe needs to work on his fouls when he's averaged 2 a game.
You and Kirsten, it's as if you have no grasp on reality at all. You post some of the most insane things I've ever read, and it makes Detroit fans look like biased morons.

It IS the same exact trade that's been discussed for the last month now. The hold up was that NJ didn't want to take on Harrington's contract, he was always in the picture.

Actually, NJ was said to have NO interest in taking on Al Harrington's contract. The fact that Harrington is now part of the discussion is definitely a new development!!!

NJ saying they had no interest in Harrington means they were discussing him right lol

This should improve the mood....
"I don't have anything going with Denver," Walsh said, according to the New York Daily News. "Nothing."

Some league execs told the paper that it was more likely that the Knicks would wait for Anthony to become a free agent this summer. "I get the sense that they will ride it out," one rival GM told the paper. "They're on a roll. Why mess with it."

^They still don't want Harrington, but the fact that they're willing to do whatever it takes to get this done isn't anything new. But I'm not here to nit pick, so I apologize for that.

I hate to say it, but at this point, it's a horrible trade for NJ (which sucks because I want RIP gone so badly I can taste it).

Broussard's Twit... "Sources: proposed NJ-Den-Det deal "not dead, but dormant." that means part 1 (reaching agreement). Part 2 (Melo signing) still a longshot"

I'd rather have Gordon gone. Rip has only been off because he was fighting with AI and now BG for minutes. Gordon couldn't play defense to save his own life. Rip may not shoot the ball as well as BG but he is a MUCH better over all player than BG. I will personally miss Rip but I agree that someone has to go. It is clear that Rip is unfortunately that guy.

I would definitely rather have Rip if Rip was 28 and had a traditional PG to set him up for plays. Main difference is the age difference between RIp and BG.
For the first time in my life I realized that I was truly happy.......then I remembered I was drunk.

He have been pulled off repeatedly from the 1st quarter due to foul trouble and he would play more minutes if he could stay away from foul trouble.

When i said NJ should be the team sending a pick our way and not the other way around and i got loled just to read a few days later that NJ would in fact send us a pick if the deal goes through? Yeah i am cluless...

1. Give it up. Monroe is not foul pronoe. You're wrong there. He does not routinely get pulled
2.You said 1st rounder. The best we're getting is a 2nd. You weren't completely right.
3.You do have nice content is some of your posts, but you tend to discount everyone else's thoughts

Per Marc Stein:

Word is DET plans to keep Troy Murphy IF Melo deal lives. Other teams already calling for Murphy but Pistons averse to buyout w/sale pending - Twitter

Also...

Your argument was that RIP's value was Murphy and a 1st while not taking back Petro's contract. Whether we get a 1st round pick or not, it has nothing to do with RIP's value and everything to do with NJ being desperate to get this done.

I said some of your comments make me want to slam my head against my desk, not all, but a lot of them do. Perhaps you were on to something in the other topic by mentioning the first round pick, but to be perfectly honest based on my comments above you got lucky.

I appreciate your contributions on this board, but some of the things that you've posted on other team's boards make us look very arrogant (and ignorant to a point). You seem to forget that this team sucks, and RIP is not an asset any longer.

Really? I barely post in other team's boards and when i do i am a role model of class. I never ever argue with anyone at their home, which is what a team's board is, i do not tolerate someone coming here and talking thrash about the Pistons and i do not go to other teams boards saying anything unless it's something good about them. Period.

So please, quote me posting something on other team's boards that make me look arrogant. Pretty please? i implore you.

You just want to hate and is throwing crap to see if you hit me, so far you are unlucky bro. Try harder next time plz =].

That seems like good news PP looks like the deal is still alive and have a good chance to happen. I hope they convince Melo to sign the extension.

An update via Hoopshype:

With so many moving pieces and countless variables, there are cautions everywhere, and you need only look back to last Sunday when the virtually done deal became virtually undone. But several NBA sources expressed growing optimism that the Nets are nearing a completion to the Carmelo Anthony saga with an agreement possible this weekend. One source said quite simply that a conclusion to the drama could come “soon.” How soon? “This weekend,” another league source maintained, putting the odds strongly in the Nets’ favor while cautioning despite the favorable outlook with three teams (Nuggets, Pistons) and 14 players involved the chances of snags are always real. - New York Post

Watching the Nuggets/Heat game right now. They are saying the same thing....looks like it will go thru within the next week or so - according to them at least.

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it.

Dammit Melo. Ruin your career and take this extension!

Every minute it seems like the deal is close...and then far from being completed...and then close again.
