Chandler is playing well so many excuse him from their trade proposals.... Gallo has missed a few games and wasn't as productive as Chandler in the first third of the season so armchair Gm's are quick to throw him into their trade proposals.

If the roles were reversed, like lets say this was the end of last year it would be Chandler in everyone's little trade proposals and Gallo as "untouchable". Funny....

Well step back into reality.... Denver will and should ask for the player performing better. And rightfully so because they would be parting with the proven commodity and not some flash in the pan (as of now,and now is what matters).

I can't fathom as to why any one player not named Amar'e on this team is untouchable?

Anthony is only 26yo! Look at his resume going back to college. These handful of players we catfight over will probably never collectively match the guy's resume throughout their entire careers.

reality? reality is that gallo has more worth than chandler because of his contract.

chandler is about to get paid 50million and no one wants to take that on, certainly not denver at this point

Come on aggo.... The CBA uncertainty effects Chandler as well but nobody ever brings it up. So the 50 million number is speculatively shaky at best.

cba uncertainty is always talked about on here

facts are that denver is looking to rebuild. them giving chanlder 40,50 million isn't rebuilding. they arent a SF away from contending. they dont want chandler.

The point is that Chandler is a free agent this Summer. So, Denver will only have a few months to figure out if they want to keep him. In addition, because of his fine play, Chandler could be getting offers North of 10M this Summer - even from the Knicks no less!

So, it makes sense why Denver doesn't think we have assets. The best piece we will give up could end up leaving. And if they are not hot on Gallo then we look even worse. That's why Mayo for Gallo would make some sense because Mayo was billed as being a top talent like Melo plus they'd get him for a year and a half before they'd have to make a decision. Fields is a nice player too but he's not the kind of guy you can trade for Melo with.
Play time is over.

Denvers trying to shed salary they are not going to trade for a player they are going to have to pay a good amount of money for and give them alot of yrs. I dont see it happening

Read the above response and you'll see what I'm getting at.

They also could just let Chandler walk instead of paying a youngster like Gallo which would save them more money. Even if it's just a million or two. Chandler is still an expiring RFA.

Melo isn't signing the extension, so no, no deal will happen. Ever.

Read the above. Assuming ten million per for Wil when the owners are going to be trying to scale back all salaries is high. Especially if the summer of 2010 was the apex of the owners spending like pigs because they knew 2011 would be different.

ibraheim

THEY ARE TRYING TO REBUILD.

why would they take on a player and then NOT SIGN HIM under your rationale. if they wanted to save money they would demand that NY takes on more money like al harrington or birdman

THEY WANT TO GET CHEAP TALENT IN THERE

Return to New York Knicks
