Here's a hypothetical scenario...

Reportedly the big hold up of the entire deal, is Denver's owner wanting a bigger long term financial savings... Which means moving Al Harrington... SO... What if the only way we can move RIP is to take back Al Harrington's contract + Something?

Is that possible... or would you not make that move? I worry this may be Joe's only option to stay in this 3 way trade.

Denver may want to take in more expirings, and perhaps not as much talent/picks.

Do you trade Rip for...
Harrington + Petro + NJ 2011 First rounder?
Harrington + Morrow + NJ 2011 2nd rounder?

I don't want Harrington at all. I say if NJ wants Melo, and needs Rip to do so....they can bite the bullet here and take on Harrington.

The only way I even consider Harrington is if we're getting a good 1st rounder out of the deal....which I doubt we'll get.

Maybe the Nets/Nugs simply need to make a separate deal being Sasha for Harrington. Do the three-way as planned out previously, then do Sasha/Harrington on the side.

The big hold is Melo not Denver. And no Joe would not take Al Harrington at all. Especially with so much money locked on CV. Would be stupid.

NJ would have to trade a minimum of 7 players to take back the 4 large contracts of Rip, Harrington, Billups, and Melo.

One thing about this i'll never understand(Little bit of a sidetrack here)is players actually wanting to go to NY. What is the draw exactly? It's not the biggest stage by any means, in terms of basketball legacy/History. It's not the weather. It is certainly not the stadium.(Unless players like playing in a dank, dark hole) Is it just about the media attention?

I'll never get it. Detroits a top ten/top five NBA market, a top ten media market, and some of the best sports fans in the U.S of A.

There is a MUCH better NBA legacy/history here then in NY, and the weather is actually NICER here then in NY.

In any event, this deal had better go thru, now that NY is trying to put together a 3-way with Denver and Memphis. **** NY can go take a flying leap...

Walsh has publically denied any such dealings with Memphis. False rumor.

Thats good news. Now make the deal Denver. I almost want them to screw this up, so they get NOTHING for Melo, and they end up sucking again. That way I can call them the butt-nuggets again.

It's the city man, and there is no way that you can argue that Detroit is even comparable to NYC these days. Once upon a time it might have been, but not now.

Thats something else I dont understand. "Where you living these days?" "In NY. Condo. Paying 10grand a month" "Oh thats nice. I live in the country, in a 5,000sq foot house, with a swimming pool, and pay 3grand a month"

I guess if you want to live with a trillion people, yay NY!

i really dont understand why melo wants a trade out of denver so badly. the team he has there now is so much better than anything in nj, and possibly ny, although with amare and felton/whoever else is left after the trade, they could form a very nice team.
however, the team in denver right now has a great shot at being the top 4 in the west, and with good matchups can easily cause problems for many teams. especially watching the game against miami, they can cause problems when they play well.

I've seen three reports saying that if it's gonna go down it will happen early next week (most likely Tuesday) after the Nets finish a stretch of games.

Sounds like this deal will go through. I can't wait. I want to happen ASAP before anyone pulls out again.

I heard that it's done, as in totally agreed upon all the players know and everyone is happy they are just waiting on timing for physicals and to make sure all 3 teams have enough players to play the next day.
