don't know why you guys are still concerned about this. He isn't going to sign a deal with them. Period.

Watch. The next time they kill the trade it will again, NOT happen to be because of the extension (the huge blue and orange gorrilla in the room).
I love how none of these guys say convincingly (or even very convinced themselves) Melo is amenable to signing an extension to play for the Nets. It's gonna be the Nuggets wanted too much or Petro doesn't wanna play for Detroit or something stupid like that. I'm feeling positive about our chances as the days go on.

reading through his tweets what i found interesting was this one -

Nuggets sent out release today saying tickets available for Heat tonight. If can't sell out tonight imagine crowds if Melo/Billups traded.

saving money in the deal is probably more important then we even realize.

In case the Nets’ deal with Carmelo Anthony falls through, Knicks president Donnie Walsh is preparing to have something in place to entice the Nuggets as a fallback.
An internet report surfaced last night the Knicks reached out to Memphis to inquire whether the Grizzlies would be willing to include O.J. Mayo in a three-way trade for Anthony.
However, a Knicks top-level official told The Post it is not a serious discussion and Denver has not even been brought into it. Even the report called talks in its "infancy."
The attempt is a sign, however, that Walsh realizes the sweepstakes for Anthony could be reaching a conclusion with the Nets winning out and wants to make sure he covers his bases.

Walsh, however, is reluctant to break up his team for Anthony, hoping he waits until summer.
It may also be a sign of Anthony’s team of advisors’ desperate attempt to let the Nets know the Knicks are in the on-deck circle as they try to finalize a three-team trade with Detroit and Denver. Anthony could spoil the Nets’ deal by refusing to sign the extension.
Back in November, Walsh was told by Denver a third team probably would be needed for a deal to go through because they weren’t thrilled with the Knicks’ young assets and lack of first-round picks to offer.
Sources believe the Nuggets have slightly more interest because of the good play of Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Landry Fields. However, Chandler is a restricted free agent and the Nuggets may not value him as a $10-plus million a year player, which he is expected to seek.
Walsh can get a first-round pick from Minnesota for Anthony Randolph, but is not looking to burn all his young assets in a trade for Anthony. Walsh may need them over the summer in a sign-and-trade when he seeks a starting center, with restricted free agents DeAndre Jordan and Marc Gasol on the radar.
The Knicks’ ideal scenario is Anthony spurns the Nets and takes a leap of faith by becoming a free-agent this summer when the Knicks have cap space. But Anthony said last month at the Garden he wants to sign an extension and not risk free agency under a new CBA.
The Post reported in October that Anthony had told Spike Lee his faraway preference is playing for the Knicks.

Man, is this **** getting frustrating. This might be topping the LeBronathon but don't know what you guys think?

Still remember this....ah this was a classic

"ESPN NY sources say LeBron is out to dinner in NYC with Houston and Amare"

At the same time.....

"LeBron to spend the day with friends in Akron playing softball"

He also said Carmelo doesn't know anything about the Espn report of the Knicks talking to the Grizzlies about a three team trade. At least Carmelo knows the Knicks are trying to get him if he didn't know already

I tried to tell this board a long time ago that he is the best Nuggets media source to cover/trust. He is pretty well respected with the teams players, and it has been that way for quite some time. Melo addresses him by his first name in interviews and they talk quite often.

Can anyone explain to me what the hype is with Derrick Favors? Nuggets have a hard-on for that guy and a bunch of writers are calling him a "franchise cornerstone" rookie. Am I missing something or has Prokhorov brainwashed everyone? I haven't been impressed with Favors at all, I kinda think hes the 2nd coming of Stromile Swift.

Oh yeah, ALL our assets are better than the Nets assets.
