This might be the biggest indication of what's going to happen since Melo stated he'd be wiling to chance signing his next deal under the new CBA. Like ITGM said above, the guy saying he's going to be in Denver for the next game is code word for "I ain't signing $h!t!"

Getting Memphis involved is a great idea. Grizz are interested in cutting payroll. And so, if you can move Mayo at the cost of AR or expiring salary...and package that along with either Fields, Gallo, or Chandler, more salary expiring, couple first rounders and Melo...then you have something to talk about with Denver.

Suns fan here love the team and staff you are putting together.

What do you think about this?

Do you think it would work for everyone?

Just curious thanks.

Well its not rediculous like most of the ones in this thread. But i dont see the knicks trading landry fields. That would leave them Gallo, Chandler, and Melo at the SF position They dont need that much SF's. Gallo is going to be the one to go if a trade goes down. Since our GM has said he wants to keep Chandler at all costs.

Also This is a bad trade for the suns as well, are you really willing to trade an expiring vince carter for al harrington

I agree - Fields is the perfect play to have starting at SG with Felton, Melo and STAT in the line-up. To be effective, he doesn't need touches (of which there won't be many to go around), and he plays good defense at a position where a lot of the best scorers in the NBA play.

I know it sounds dumb, but I'd trade Randolph, Gallo and even Chandler before I'd trade Fields.

Donnie Walsh denies most recent Carmelo Anthony trade rumor involving O.J. Mayo

BY Frank Isola

As the Nets attempt to finalize a trade for Carmelo Anthony an internet report claims that the Knicks are trying to recruit Memphis to facilitate a deal for the Denver All-Star.

Knicks president Donnie Walsh Thursday night denied being in talks with both the Grizzlies and Nuggets in a complicated trade that would bring Anthony to New York. The Grizzlies involvement would include sending O.J. Mayo to the Nuggets while the Knicks would trade a combination of Wilson Chandler plus Danilo Gallinari or Landry Fields.

Meanwhile, a source involved in the negotiations remains confident that the proposed three-way deal between the Nets, Nuggets and Pistons would be completed early next week. Anthony was in the starting lineup on Thursday when the Nuggets hosted the Miami Heat. The Nets face the Lakers on Friday in Los Angeles.

I dont know why Denver and other fans think that trading Landry Fields is like just another player.. If it wasent for Blake Griffin being injured last tear, Landry Fields would most likely be the rookie of the year this year. Is that someone anyone trades??

Also heres a trade i made. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4qxonjx

Gotta love that little petty competition between the NY beat writers. As soon as Berman delivers a scoop, Isola is up on his feet looking for someone to deny it.

Anyone who reports that Stan Kroenke would block a trade or ostracize another NBA team for any reason doesn’t know Stan, who has spoken positively about Anthony’s wedding on numerous occasions. To say he harbors ill feelings toward any team after Carmelo’s nuptials clearly has been misled. NBA.com

What exactly are you trying to imply by putting the lol in quotes? And wouldnt it be more prone for the eye to twitch? If so, are you implying that if its the cheek twitching that its not a good sign but leave room for an eye twitch to be a real sign? :D

Obviously since its Berman you have to take it with several grains of salt, but did anyone else notice the blurb in his Melo article today where he mentions his sources saying that the Knicks are working on a deal to acquire a "beast" of a center?

I think it's the only sensible article on the melo situation that I've read. Unfortunately for those of us spending a lot of time in this thread, it downplays all the bs and hype that has caused over 800 pages (and counting) of fan responses. Interesting to see the honesty of a "beat writer" who is secure in his job and doesn't have to compete with others for the next sensational "scoop."

This is not to criticize any reporter doing his job. It’s just to remind people that reporters are constantly quoting unnamed sources after unnamed sources after unnamed sources. Until Anthony, Josh Kroenke and Ujiri are quoted on record, consider the rumors to be just that – speculation, not fact.

Again, I’m not involved [in] trade talks and negotiations. But we should take the rumors with a grain of salt. Unless there’s a trade call or a press conference, Nuggets fans should keep enjoying the hard work being put in by a team that is on pace for its eighth straight playoff appearance and not buy into every rumor or occasional untruth.

No doubt. But he happens to be correct. Fans love to hear the next sensational scoop, so reporters do what they can to provide it. We've all been through this many times before. In the end, 99.99% of all the rumors turn out false; yet here we are every day reloading the page and updating twitter waiting waiting waiting for the next update, even though we all know it's bullsh.

Nothing dumb about that. At this point, dumb would be trading Fields.
