Illmaculate is one of those guys that I have to watch the video's, I only recently really started to keep up with the battle scene. I agree that Dizaster is probably going to have a cakewalk on him, I really don't think D.N.A. is all that nice to begin with from the few videos that I watched.

Yeah I like D.N.A. personally. But he is being overrated though. I see him the same way I see Conceited. More hype than talent. i just can't think of a "Top Tier" guy I would pick DNA to beat. Guys like Dizaster, Hollow, Illmac, Soul Khan, Nocando, Madness, etc. etc. I just don't see him hanging with them.

T-Rex is insanely overrated. I am amazed that anyone thought he beat Okwerdz. And there really isnt anything special about Okwerdz to begin with. But He still murdered Rex. I am not sure where all the hype even came from for Rex.

I personally felt D.N.A lost that battle with Big T. It was a close battle, but D.N.A's last round was just soooo weak. That 8 Mile finish was embarrassing to say the least. Especially since he went last, and named off all the **** that Big T said in the battle up to that point. **** works in the movies I guess. But not in a real battle. That part of the battle was hard for me to watch. D.N.A. is nice though. That being said, I think Dizaster is going to run right over him at BOLA4.

Anyways, this is one of my favorite battles in the last year or so. Gotta love Illmac's professional flow.

Yep, I agree big time on Rex. Okwerdz beat him, but barely to me, both dudes disappointed. Okwerdz tweeted about three battles in one month coming up, I don't think that's wise for any emcee.

DNA won to me, but yeah the third round was wack. It was a performance that really dropped him a notch in my book. He's always been on the verge though, his style is nice and he has the freestyle thing on luck. That battle was almost as disappointing as when Farnum sonned him. I think he'll bring serious bars for Diz though...but with the recent Dizaster from that Swave battle (and a home field advantage), he's got an uphill battle.

Good looks on dropping Illmac vs Eurgh. Both cats are KILLING IT right now. Mac bodied him in my book though, Eurgh did great, but that performance from Mac was just incredible. His first round was no joke!

I was wondering where you were at for all this battle discussion spreeforall, I knew someone was missing.

lol Ill said almost what I stated about The Saurus which may not have been the first time a battle rapper mentioned it but the sweating and the increasing in pausing is a dead give away he's struggling. Both those videos were exposure.....Ill used the same ish on Eurgh that he used on TS...I mean come on although his off the top was nice but he got bodied the last round. Madness is a Rodney Dangerfield battle rapper he seriously succks and isn't funny.

 It's easy to lose stuff in this thread. I had no idea battles were even being discussed in here. Been missing out lol.

@TheBluest Thats definitely the first time I've heard someone say Madness sucks. Everyone has their own opinion though. I think Madness is dope, both off the top on written. And I think he is hilarious lol. Though I think Rodney Dangerfield is hilarious too haha.

Another one of my favorites, these 2 cats are BEASTS.

Yeah, I'm a Madness fan, though he is all jokes nowadays. He can bring it lyrically and musically he's more talented than a lot of these battle cats. I just don't like how cocky he's gotten. That Sahtyre battle was ridiculous. I think he's funny as hell too.

Big Kannon is a PROBLEM, isn't he battling Swave next? That could be a phenomenal battle.

Wanna see an incredible performance imo...

His third verse was phenomenal!

"What the **** do you judge me on,my swagger or ability
rappin' brilliant lyrically or a passionate delivery
strategy or skill, the bigger laughs or flips and iller frees?
If that's the deal than half the winners lack what battles really need
But look, how could they know that? That's why battlin's so wack
In the hands of these joke judges when half of 'em don't rap....GODDAMN!

"And that was 13 multi-syllables and none of 'em were forced" :o :o :o

I thought it was 15 multi's but you simply don't need multis to pull off incredible performances. Matter of fact I'd wager the less multis are always better then more. You need creative delivery where any word(s) bar(s) at any given time stand out with a clear point of execution. There's nothing which suggest to me a slant in battling favors any one particular thing done well.

Was that from Illmac?

That was a quote from Maniphest Destine...He had a 1-4 record going in with some questionable losses and just bitched out the judges and the system. Multi's aren't necessary to put together a great verse, but when multi's are laced together properly without forcing them...my god it sounds so great melodically. Big Pun is one of my favorite all time rappers and he was one of the truly nasty multi-rapping emcees. Complex rhyme schemes are always great to me, multi's are just one facet of this, but I really love it when it's done right. I think when Thesaurus rhymes entire sentences without forcing them, I'm always impressed...but the key is saying something with your multi's.

In battles, I think cadence, delivery and crowd control are WAY more important than multi's...and the bars and punches are head and shoulders above all of that, but I love a well structured verse that is littered with rhymes. I think battles will pretty much never be judged on a single measure, but I could see why some emcees get frustrated. You can be the best GT rapper and be garbage to everyone at Smack and vice versa. It becomes all about opinions. I think the most interesting style of judging battles was that World Rap Championship style, where every punchline was worth 1,2 or 3 points. Flips and rebuttals scored too somehow. It actually had a scoring system, which was pretty cool but still sparked arguments from the losers. Other than that, crowd vote makes sense unless there's bias...but there's ALWAYS bias these days.

A great battle with a little bit of everything and just great bars throughout, is Pass vs Hollow...I loved that battle...still do.

I think Em signing some serious hip hop lyricists and workers is a sign that hip hop just might be headed in a new direction...Em is trying to challenge the machine, his new album had none of the typical commercial stuff and now he signs SH and Yelawolf!? He tried before to go against the grain and it didn't work out very well. Obie Trice was successful but followed a commercial blueprint and got dropped once he went with more of his own style and there aren't many symbols of success from that era after Fifty.

...I hope this is different.
