We are 2 players away from a championship. The Nets are light years away.

If Amare goes down injured the team will be bad as the Nets...So we shouldn't be hooting and hollering making fun of teams like we just finished winning 2 straight championships...
I can understand being critical but to act pompous? Like if we're the cats meow or something...

ORLY? The NBA has a large interest in keeping its superstars happy and NOT subjecting one superstar to an unfair penalty. A logical, equitable salary structure is certainly in the league's interest. It keeps the integrity of the system, keeps a star player from being singled out for what would essentially be punitive treatment, and wards off future labor problems.

So you're just wrong. REALLY wrong.

Again, WADR, your analysis is simplistic and unimpressive.

 so you think the NBA is going into a lockout because they want to pay players more or the same ???? sorry kg im just gunna go on my way now.

lol yeah go on your way.

And yes, I am saying that the NBA does not want to impose an unfair system on its players, where some are singled out for poor treatment just because they were under contract for LONGER (which is what Melo did and lebron did not). It's not all about shaving a dollar here or there in the short term -- CBA negotiations are about arriving at cost savings in a long-term viable system that promotes peace with the union. Punishing Melo is not worth it for them because it throws the salary structure out of whack. I am comfortable guaranteeing that Melo will either make 105% of what he made last season OR all salaries, like those of lebron and Gay, will be slashed.

In other words, if Melo takes a paycut, so will everybody else.

To be fair, you know not of what you speak. You just want to show how smart you are and how disagreeable you can be, but you are out of your league and haven't really thought through the issues.

That should be interesting. I wonder what the "sources" will have to say then.

It could also be he's watching his clients play before he heads over to Newark to finalize a Melo extension?

I dunno lol

That's why I trust Donnie! If what Isola is saying is true, that is how you conduct business once and for all. Talk to Rose about his client Eddy and get the real deal (as honest as Rose will be) about all this talk. We are in good hands with Donnie, Melo or not!

( ESPN First Take on Melo )

I think those two pretty much got it right. . everyone and anyone other than Amare (and probably Felton too..) is gone if Denver really wants them. . yes we have "leverage", and would be "okay" without Melo, but lets not fool ourselves - getting Amare and Melo on the same team would do BIG things for us.. we should be working feverishly to get that to happen at just about any cost..... now how many is where we draw the line, but who (other than Amare and Felt), shouldn't really be a question...After Amare Felton it probably goes Chandler Fields Gallo down the line (in terms or who we want to keep)

but again, as they point out, lets not fool ourselves into thinking " Melo would be okay, but I like our team now" ... "we can do fine, we just need a center!" blah blah blah... Getting Melo would put us at a level far and beyond what the current group go do, even with a center.... That's how good an Amare Melo combo would be.... and lets be realistic, we'd still have a bunch of pieces, depending on the deal, around those two.... Chandler and Fields hopefully.

The guys who thrive here, are the guys with balls. If Melo hasn't got the balls to lay doen the law to his own EMPLOYEES (agents), then how the hell could he survive the pressure here?

Amare manned up and is killing it.

Not gonna lie, I totally envy Leon Rose. Well, except for the short, fat, bald, and slimy thing.

Perhaps....At least it's all coming to a head one way or the other....Donnie wont play his hand...Perhaps its a conversation about Eddy Curry! But you know damn well, Melo's name will come up! :D

Just because you hit a buzzer beater in a game doesn't make you ready for the pressure of playing in New York.

If Carmelo had the balls to wait it out, it would show he is ready for the pressure.

But he doesn't and he isn't.

What do you guys think it takes to get Mayo, and who could we involve in the trade (that could receive Mayo and send someone/an asset to Denver?
