UH OH Guys!? Remember Donnie has been saying this all along, (that he has a 1st round pick if he wants it) and there were reports the reason he never did it was because Amare goes down they really then had no pure PF, insurance policy. But if hes getting traded within next 2 weeks for just a 1st round pick? why you need 2 weeks for a 1st? lol sounds like the timetable its because Donnie is still working on the package for Denver and until he has a trade offer he wont do it because AR is still insurance for us. u guys agree? i cant see how this isnt related to Melo UNLESS and ONLY UNLESS its a 1st and Ridnour. agree?

I agree, but I think it's for something else.

Donnie could get the pick now, if it's like that.

I just think he is positioning for something.......

I think Denver already knows that it's Knicks or they lose Carmelo for nothing...

I fully agree.

On a side not I wonder why is Leon Rose at the Garden tonight??
We know Donnie reads the paper, so he ain't saying nothing per Denver's demands.

Rose is there because of Curry , it was in the Post this week . Curry said after the road trip when they got to NY he was gonna have a meeting with his agent about his situation . Rose probably talked to Curry n then spoke to Donnie bout what was said .

Carmelo Anthony's "ultimate dream" would be to play in New York, the Denver Nuggets forward said Friday in an interview with ESPN's Colleen Dominguez.

Anthony and his wife, LaLa Vazquez, are from the area and have strong ties to Brooklyn.

"That's like the ultimate dream at the end of the day," Anthony said. "Who wouldn't want to go back home to play?"

Anthony stopped short of saying he wanted to play for the New York Knicks or the New Jersey Nets, who will move into a new arena in Brooklyn in 2012.

"I don't know, it's tough for me to answer that question," Anthony said when asked where he wants to play next year. "It's tough for me to sit here and say, 'Oh, I want to play in New York' [or] 'Oh, I want to play in New Jersey' [or] 'Oh, I want to say here [in Denver].' "
http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/ ... id=6023180

Anthony admitted he's had a difficult time dealing with all of the trade rumors.

"It's kind of hard for me to even watch sports right now," Anthony said. "That's all they're talking about right now."

He added, " I haven't had a good night's sleep since Thanksgiving."

Anthony said he was surprised when the Nets emerged as possible trade partners with the Nuggets.

"I [had] never really thought about the New Jersey Nets," he said, before allowing that he has susbsequently considered the possibility.

"I see what the future holds, they'll move into Brooklyn. ... Me going back home to Brooklyn, opening that arena, I think about all that stuff."

But Anthony also said, "I haven't even thought about [signing an extention with the Nets]."

this article made me feel better about his choice, i don't know what you guys are reading.

Me too. Saying you've never thought about an extension with the Nets is pretty close to saying you're not sure you'd even consider it.

I dont read too much into it, when Donnie is up to something you seldom hear of it, it sorta happens suddenly.

He was saying the comments about Brooklyn because that keeps the statements neutral. Had he not said that the article heading would be "Melo not looking Jersey bound"

Talk about the trade chatter effecting the Nuggets? is anyone watching the Knick game right now. There Shooting 30 Percent from the Field and i think chandler is 1-10 or something like that. It may be effecting us.

I love getting Turiaff but maybe we could have signed and traded Lee for a better deal. I guess though if it nets us a 1st rd pick, and that helps get Melo, it's a great move in the end.

Honestly i really wouldn't be mad if melo didnt come, i would really want donnie to get iggy through. I think iggy probably would be a better fit we need his defense and toughness hes also a great passer and finisher. We would have a good young core of chandler 23yr, gallo 22yr, fields 22yr, felton 26yr, amare 28yr, iggy 26yr. We would be good for years. And we can probably get iggy for cheap.

We are going to need some body to guard wade, lebron, joe johnson, arenas ect..

Yeahhhhhh aaaaand as business people, they're hired for their business judgment lol. Their business reputation will be damaged if they recommend a business decision to Melo that leads him to a result that is not what he wants, and he ends up with the same business contract he could have had in NY, his first choice.

They'll look stupid. Agents are not supposed to be stupid. Business and stupid don't go together

It does for broke people. :D

Crazy how some people's views on Melo are changing day by day.

Please...Iggy is nothing close to Melo's play and is not a better fit.

Iguodala is 27, not 26. He's also not any better than Chandler.

This is the problem with not having a STAR WING player. for example if chandler is off like he is tonight you can forget about it! Because he is not getting to the line, fields either, walker williams none of these guys attack and get to the line. Playoffs are grudge matches! Knicks are too jump shot heavy at the PG SG and SF positions.

Actually someone posted the numbers awhile ago are pretty similar. The main difference is preception that Iggy is alot worse personally the difference is not as great as some of you make it. Mello is definitely better, but face it if we are going for a wing player that is not what we need. Center and PG and this team is much better. If we don't get mello we should go for a center
That move is what needs to be done to get the line up balanced, now who I could not tell you People point to Tyson Chandler he might be a good fit so would Okafor for what we need but not at that price unless picks come back.

I feel like he definitely could end up signing with the Nets because 1) I'm a Knicks fan and am used to being disappointed and 2) because how much power these agents really have and the fact that money truly does talk. But I definitely also feel that there's so many signs that have him coming to the Knicks....there's almost too many reasons to list but all you have to do is browse through these threads and you'll easily get the point.

We don't know how Melo views things so it's hard to say but let's toss a few things about. What does he think the new CBA will bring? Does it even matter all that much to him? He could play in the place he wants with his friend and be an idol with a chance to be a champ, is that enough to offset possible money loss? He would have to be an accountant bean counter without a pulse IMO to say no to the Knicks. Does Melo look like that to you? Not to me.
