cant get too upset. thought we played decent. who would have expected shaq to go all retro on us. and shaq and rondo making all fts. their top 4 all showed up. tough to win like that.

bad matchup for dj, on a bad ankle. thought his stats looked better than he played, but he was ok, better than he has been the last 4 game vs celtics.

liv and jax were really bad and both hurt us big time.

We didn't play too bad. Jax had an off night - the difference though was he wasn't forcing his offense, his shots (good shots) just didn't drop.

If Jax had shot a little better, who knows?

I think we should have pushed the pace though. Outside of one fast break basket I don't feel like we got out and ran at all - which you would think would be the obvious thing to do considering the make up of the Celts.

MVP of the game - the "Bowen" ref. I guess that's why we see a bit too many minutes from Shaun in the 4th.

Tonight we saw the bad Jax. The one who can shoot you out of a game. Not the only reason we lost, but a major contributor to the defeat.

I didn't think he took bad shots though ohara? There have been games in the past where he has gone something like 5/17 and it's driven me nuts because he's forced his offense, taken bad shots and been a black hole, but tonight I thought pretty much every shot he took was a good shot, they just didn't drop.

On the plus side - only 9 team turn overs. Single digits in back to back games!!

And our team beat Rondo by 2 assists.

Bobcats = 15 assists
Rondo = 13 assists

I agree. It just kills me to see shoot shoot and shoot some more and keep missing. But tonight, the shots were not really bad shots, just not falling shots. It just hurts more when we only lose by 5 and you know Jax could have been a difference maker if he was on his game.

Agree, his worst shot was that fadeaway off the glass that somehow fell.

gotta give credit to the celtics defense. they didnt give us an open jumpshot until dj hit that 3 in the corner.

That's the key. They were in DJ's face all night long, which really stopped any kind of real offense before it started. Our offense depends on DJ being able to shake the defender. Normally he can because he is so fast and has such a good handle on the ball. Tonight he couldn't, which is the reason we had so few assists.

Bottom line, they are the best team in the East and this was not a BAD loss. Jackson did take good shots, just couldn't get it to fall toinght. DJ still has periods where he just becomes invisible out there, but tonight I think that can be attributed to Rondo more so than anything else.

The good news for us is that the Hornets are going to OT tonight against Houston. They are going to have to come to Charlotte after OT, AND loose and hour. Tomorrow is a game we should win...

I wouldn't call 6 assists on a night where the team, for most of the game, shot 40% from the floor as having "so few assists".

I also think that Shaq clogging up the lane was more of a deterrent than anything Rondo did.

Shaq was a MASSIVE presence for them tonight.

I'm talking about as a team only having 15 assists. Thats not great. Especially when you compare it to the 22 of the Celtics. They were working a lot less for there baskets. Everytime we got a basket it was a struggle because no one was open because we couldn't get the ball moving. Obviously Shaq had a huge presence, but Rondo being in DJ's face and really containing him was bigger, IMO.

We played pretty well, they're just better than us. The three things that killed us IMO : their D (they managed to completely stop our offense at times, pretty impressive), our transition D (allowed Pierce to get wide open threes), and Shaq (Prevented us from going small when it would have helped us a lot, playing Diaw and TT would have been great IMO. That plus he destroyed us on the offensive end)

Not mad though, they were simply better, let's hope we're able to stay concentrated and continue on our recent good play.
