Here are the facts as they are presently:

1. The consensus of NBA writers around the country is that Melo will be traded to the Nets next week.
2. Alan Hahn has reported that the Nets + extension are his choice 1B if he can't get the Knicks.
3. Melo's agents have been pushing the trade.
4. Melo has admitted that he thinks about going home to Brooklyn and opening the new arena.
5. Chauncey Billups knows he might be going to New Jersey, despite the fact that Melo could have told him he won't sign the extension which would nix any trade.
6. Prokorhov and Jay Z are going to put on the hard sell and convince Melo that he could become a billionaire by being the first Brooklyn hometown sports hero since Jackie Robinsion.
7. Donnie Walsh has stated time and time again that he will not blow up the team to get Melo, which would be necessary with no draft picks and an extremely hostile trade partner.

&

8. Chris Sheridan, who was predicting LeBron to the Knicks all day July 8, 2010, despite overwhelming sentiment to the contrary, says Melo will only sign with the Knicks.

Draw your own conclusions. Some of you guys are probably pretty attached to Carmelo Anthony at this point, the realization of reality is going to be hard.

If they go in with that someone should point out Jackie was not born in Brooklyn but in Cairo Georgia. And face it a 50 years ago there was that difference between the Burroughs but not any more. NYC is now viewed thru out the nation as NY not The Bronx or Brooklyn but as a total of NYC

melo better expect to play for New York's B-team for the rest of his career then. I fully expect the Don to have something up his sleeve if this trade goes through.

I think iggy probably would be a better fit we need his defense and toughness hes also a great passer and finisher. We would have a good young core of chandler 23yr, gallo 22yr, fields 22yr, felton 26yr, amare 28yr, iggy 26yr. We would be good for years. And we can probably get iggy for cheap.

We are going to need some body to guard wade, lebron, joe johnson, arenas ect..

Crazy how some people's views on Melo are changing day by day.

Please...Iggy is nothing close to Melo's play and is not a better fit.

Iggy is icky.

It's frustrating because just when we think we have turned the corner  I think if we had Melo on this team Amare wouldn't be so beat up and we wouldn't need a great performance from Ray every night.

Amare CANT play these minutes night in night out trying to carry the load

NEED a 2nd scorer and a guy to take some of the pressure off

enough of this we don't need Melo we have Chandler+Gallo crap, you can't rely on guys who alternate having good games.

lol @ people going by a game by game base on whether or not they want Melo.

We can win the next 10 but until we prove we can beat the Celtics, Heat, Magic, etc. I will still want Melo.

this isnt the nfl, you cant live game to game. theres 82 not 16, you can only take so much from one game.

Look lets be fair, everytime has a mental lapse. It's no reason we should be using that as a reason to get melo. If we beat them by 50 we should be still looking to make a case for Melo. Not just because we lost.
