If Carmelo goes to the Nets im officially done believing any Free Agent comes here. Im Tired of hearing about how badly someone wants to come here and we talk about it for months on end, then we get screwed over..

Just trade him to the Nets already so we can be done with this bullcrap, we tried but the Nuggets dont want to trade with us.. Theirs nothing we can do and i think in the end hes going to end up with the Nets. The only thing left we can do is Resign Chandler, and hope to make some trades to make us competing in the playoffs.

Its just a huge letdown when a player specifically says he wants to come to the Knicks and the Knicks only and he ends up with a another team.. How could any Knick fan not be pissed when a player says something like that to get yours hopes up and then he dosent deliver? If theirs a Chris Paul thread or Dwight Howard thread on this board next year... I dont even know anymore.

And why is it so easy for this board to gamble away Millions of Dollars of his money. You cant blame the guy, hes taking security over uncertainty. Which could ultimately lead to tens of millions.

please don't agree with a guy using the term "financial security". Having 40 million instead of 65 million isnt insecurity. Picking a service every month that you will have turned off because you cant pay it is insecurity. It's really insulting to people who struggle when these guys talk about the "insecurity" of the CBA.

What???? What does this have to do with anything. Ask somebody going through hard times what they'd rather have:

Choice 1: guaranteed money.
Choice 2: an "uncertain" "unspecified" "unknown" lesser quantity of money

That better? Stop confusing this with social issues. This is a simple matter of math, logic, common-sense, and reason for Carmelo.

Thanks man.

Yea after watching I feel like he was just talking. I think its clear he wants the KNicks even from the video, ALTHOUGH, to be real sounds like he would be excited about playing with the Nets in BK. However BK is a little bit away, AND i think he knows that he couldnt compete in BK for a championship. The Knicks are still NY first team AND he can compete for a championship with the Knicks. Hey, being five minutes from home wouldnt be bad for him but being 20 minutes from where he grew up aint exactly bad either.

At the end of the day, none of us knows what he is going to do or what is going on in his head, but I just cant see him leaving Denver for the Nets, just doesnt make alot of sense from a basketball standpoint.

Oh please. Melo has made hella dough already, and hes going to get paid this offseason too. Why do people think the CBA is going to cut salaries in half or something? Do you realize the players have to agree to it? its not like Stern can just cut em himself and run away laughing.

Melo is going to get his money. At most he loses a few mill, but if LeBron/Wade/Bosh could all take paycuts to play on a winner than why cant Melo?

Another point people forget is Melo is making 17 mill this year compared to 14 mill for the Big 3. So hes already up a few million this season. How much money is he really losing here?

The people who are going through "hard times" are not professional athletes. At any point, they can sell their lot of luxury cars and feed their entire family for the rest of their lives. "Hard times" should be defined (as the previous poster did) as a situation where you have to choose between necessities to survive. ie: Food or heat? Rent or clothes? Not, a new yellow Lambo or a golden toilet bowl.

If they choose between your two choices (guaranteed money or uncertainty), these players will still make more money in one year than most of us will make in our entire lifetime. Carmelo and the rest of the NBA players will never go through "hard times", unless they spend/invest their money foolishly. But, that's an entirely different argument.

Same here bro. I also wouldn't deal with Denver in the future on trades or anything, they will be dead i my book far as communication goes. I think the Knicks should take the arrogant road from here on out, but thats starts with winning first. LOok I'll be upset if he don't come but life goes on and so does basketball for the Knicks. But if Carmelo choose the money over winning then i don't want a guy like that on my team with that mindset. Just the factthat he warming up tp the Nets is suspect and clear indicator that he want his money before winning. I think thats where you seperate the men from the mice far as winning goes. I will say this, I will not blame Walsh if we don't get Melo I think he did a hell of a job since his arrival, but you got to be a little nervous if he fails to get another big name or big talent to team up with Amare. The clock has been ticking since amare came and we need to have more talent around here to take down the Heat. I do not want to see a replay of the 90's when we couldn't beat the bulls.

I wont be in the least bit bitter if he goes to NJ. Honestly I'll feel bad for the guy because either he is really stupid, which I dont think he is, or he let someone pressure him into joining that dump of a team. Even if they obtained the amount of success that the Knicks currently have nobody would even care down in Newark. Maybe some would care in Brooklyn but thats still 2 years away. Even then he'll never compete for a championship in NJ unless they bring in another superstar to help him out. Even then it will be hard for them to compete with Miami. After a year in NJ Melo would want out.

The only reason I quote Bob is because he is a fraud. Last week he said Melo will not hold up any trade but suddenly Prokorov needs to come to Denver to convince him?
