My thinking is, when all is said and done Melo will be dealt within 2 weeks to NY.
I get the feeling that his reps will do what the client REALLY wants done and work something out with NY.
This whole Randolph conversation now makes things real interesting. Combine that with the fact that Azuibuke's contract is now 80% insured and you have the makings of a deal falling into place. Anybody who thinks Leon Rose was at MSG last night to discuss Eddy Curry's unhappiness is smoking the bestest and they need to share it!
I can not see Melo fully committing to NJ until he is 100% sure that NY is not an option and he is not sure of that yet. At least that is how he seems to sound of late. He constantly mentions coming home to play and his love of MSG in particular. That can't continue to be ignored by us as fans and by the media pundits.
I can see Donnie doing 1 deal and filling numerous NEEDS in one fell swoop. I see NY being one of the few teams willing to take back a contract from Denver IF it means Melo comes with the deal. As far as trading Anthony Randolph who is a linchpin in this whole Melo-drama, I only can see two teams being major players in a deal with NY and those teams are Indy and Portland both who covet Randolph for a 1st rd pick. My instincts tell me Portland will be the destination Donnie deals with. And in my mind that is because they have pieces that may be of interest to The Nuggets!
So I am going all in on the following hunch, NY will get Melo, Birdman (who mysteriously is now out for a week with knee and back issues, yeah right) and Patty Mills, who gets dealt from NY is anyone's guess, but I believe Fields will still be a Knick when the dust settles.
My prediction is Melo will be dealt to NY within the next 2 weeks!
