Proky can't sell him on the impossible. Neither the Nets nor the Knicks can make him a billionaire.

Tell that to the Nets fans. They were bragging about that with the LeBron sweepstakes which makes them losing out on him look more foolish.

You misunderstood me. The NY market could have made Lebron a billionaire, but it can't make Carmelo one. They aren't in the same stratosphere in terms of marketability. By the same token, we can't make Amare a billionaire either.

I wouldn't be heartbroken if he ends up a net, but we sure as hell can keep this team the way it is and expect to make some noise in the playoffs. something's got to give.

And 100 million isn't a payday for Carmelo?

you said wilson would take less (QO) to play with carmelo, you used Rgay as an example of someone who took less to play for a a winner, i said chandler's not in the same situation as rgay. chandlers coming off his rookie deal, rgay had already gotten one huge contract from the nets when he decided to take less with the spurs.

whats this have to do with melo's "payday"? try and keep up.

So if winning a title is the #1 priority wouldn't Melo think that his chances would be better joining STAT and Felton on the Knicks than being a solo act on the Nets?????

I used the RJ situation as an example. Just because Wilson takes the QO doesn't mean that he can't have an agreement to be extended for "working with the Knicks" as did RJ with the Spurs. Do you understand that RJ helped the Spurs in the process. My point wasn't about the money per say... I don't expect Chandler to "take less". That was my point. And as far as Melo was concerned you contradicted yourself implying that he wouldn't take less money. Yet, you justified RJ taking less money because he already had a big pay day. Melo already made over 100 million- I think it's safe to say that a title is more important at this stage in his career...

And do me a favor, less talk BASKETBALL and leave the "chief" nonsense and "keep up" comments out of it...

Well yeah but let's be honest. Amare has become a bigger superstar in NY than in Phoenix. If they did make that kind of money, It would have to be at a later stage of their careers. I personally think if they bring a title to NYC that would give them all of the money in the world marketing wise.

Money is not important to me, opting out next summer is a big risk

Winning is important to me, its about whats best for my family.

I never said I wanted to leave denver, wherever im traded im signing the extension

Wherever im traded im signing the extension, I want to keep my options open

I feel bad I dont want to see billups involved denver is his home, we have talked about winning a championship

I have not got a good nights sleep sense thanksgiving, I could never sleep in denver because of the thin air

I never said I wanted to leave denver, where ever I GO will be whats best for me and my family

I never thought about the nets, nets moving to brooklyn 5 minutes where I was born, I think about all that

I dont want to do it like Lebron did, says carmelo during a espn interview about his decision.

They would certainly get a lot more than they would have in their previous markets, that is without a doubt, but a billion is unrealistic for them at this point.

well in order for chandler to help the knicks by "working with them" he would have to take less, theres nothing else he can do for them other than take less money than he's worth. and i never said melo wouldnt take less money, i implied it as a possibility that he was full of BS in what he was saying, but i never said he wouldnt do it. you're just hearing what you want to hear. and i justified my skepticism of him because i can name a boat load of other 100 million dollar athletes who've lied.......

Well in all honesty it seems that NJ is getting close to finalizing the 3 team deal. There is word out now that detroit has benched RIP with the impending deal about to go through.

I asked Carmelo Anthony if tonight could be his last home game with Nuggets. "No. No. No'' he said. Wouldn't elaborate. Nuggets host OKC Wed

you mean finalizing it for the third time? rip's is getting moved regardless, so they're not risking his injury look at his minutes over the last month, he's not the player you should be looking at, you should be looking for murphy, morrow, petro, harrington guys that usually play and have no reason to sit.
