Wasn't an insult at you. I said Knicks fans hyping the Knicks up so much has gotten other people(like you) to believe they're actually a really good team. Reality is, they're just average.
Teams he could go to to give him a better shot at winning a championship(since that's all he supposedly cares about)? Bulls, Magic, Heat, Lakers, Spurs, Jazz, Mavs, Hornets, Celtics, Clippers, staying in Denver...to name a few.
If he cared so much about winning a title and money wasn't important(as he has said), he'd just go take the MLE somewhere and win a title next year. There are a lot of teams in a better situation, for now and the future, than the Knicks. That much is certain.
Bulls - Their need is a SG, not so much of a SF. Would they take Melo? Of course, but they don't need him.
Magic - Those trades they pulled have taken them out of the Melo sweepstakes.
Heat - LOL, Really?
Lakers - Unless Melo is a 6'10" C that plays for the Orlando Magic, I don't think the Lakers are interested in him. Quite honestly after Kobe retires the face of the franchise will be that of a young one, not a Carmelo Anthony who would be around his mid 30s.
Spurs - Why would the Spurs mess up their chemistry? They have the best record in the NBA, if it aint broke don't fix it.
Jazz - Who exactly wants to play for them?
Mavs - Same spot he's in now, getting abused by LAL and SAS.
Hornets - They can contend for a title, really?
Celtics - Didn't Pierce just sign an extension? So where would Melo play?
Clippers - See Hornets.
Denver - This makes the most sense if Denver can build around him and get him a 2nd option. If this happens he will still be crushed by LAL, SAS, and OKC.
You're taking him to literally when he said winning > money. Of course he wants to get paid, but he wants to win as well, he's not going to win in NJ. The only team that's a perfect fit for him is NYK.
