8-9 The road to .500! (otherwise known as winning a road playoff game) In the immortal words of Willie Nelson- On the road again

Winning the NFC West at 7-9? - a travesty. Beating the Saints?- fluke. Taking down the Bears on the frozen tundra of Soldier Field?- A Beastmode stiff arm to the face of the clueless media talking heads, a galvanizing team forging exclamation mark on the Carrol era, and possibly the cause for the San Andreas fault to give Phoenix beach front property (please dolphins, you are not welcome in Arizona, you must show your marine life id at all checkpoints)

Injury update:

Seahawks-

Lofa- concussion. Likely to play as of wed.

Da Bears

Healthy

Things to Watch:

1-QB. Matt was the man last week. Does he have enough bengay and iceyhot to rally for two straight weeks of awesome performances? He'll have to avoid the lofted throws he made look so nice last week, as a more conservative Bears team will have more men in coverage and be looking for the lob.

2-Seattle run game... "Troy" Polumbus seems to be a nice addition to left guard. The stability seems to be working on the line, and our 1-2 punch worked for 130 yards last week and also was effective in the first meeting of these teams. Bank on it being necessary to win a road playoff game.

3-Matt Forte. The Seahawks embarrassed him last time around, but this time there is no Red Bryant to beat the edge in. If you can do it one more time the Bears have to rely on a gambling Cutler offense, let him run over the top and they control time of possession.

4-Peppers vs Okung. Another grudge match between one of the bests and a stud rookie on two bad ankles. This is my matchup of the game, though I would not be shocked to see Peppers avoid the matchup and try his hand at being held by Head-Locklear.

Predictions-

21-17 Bears. Road games are tough to win, the Bears are better right now than last time and Matt rarely plays his best two games consecutively

We're going to WIN!

... the coin flip, and from there we'll see.

The Hawks have a really cool vibe around them right now, and I love it.

My breakdown, in which I answer nothing and merely raise additional questions: I understand why people doubt the Seahawks. I mean, 7-9. I get it. But... do you really trust Jay Cutler when it counts, national media? Do you? Really?

We're peaking in the nick of time. :lift:

I don't know. Keys to game for me off the top of my head:

--No turnovers
--Effective and balanced offensive attack
--Stop running game and PRESSURE on Cutler all day long (unleash Curry on him)
--Big momentum shifting plays go our way

I don't know. If we get beaten bad, wouldn't surprise me. We lose close or win close, wouldn't surprise me. We beat them badly, would surprise me.

Edge to Bears. But I don't think the Bears are a strong top 2 seed team. They are a beatable 2 seed. Can we? Hmm....well we don't want to play from behind much if any at all in this game. That's for sure. I think we've got to start well. My sense is that we'll have to lead at halftime to win this game. Just a hunch.

I'm hoping the bad Jay Cutler rolls out of bed today. If that happens the Hawks have a very legit shot at hosting the NFC title game in Seattle baby!

If the good Jay Cutler shows up it might be a long game.

Also Matt can't throw more than 1 pick.

It does feel that the Hawks are building momentum.

GO HAWKS!

I can't believe the Packers. It just seems like everything is falling our way. We can beat the Bears...make it happen.

Looks like a neck injury at first glance.

Don't kick to Hester. What's so hard to understand about this?

I don't know...we paid the price earlier this season and now we are paying it again.

We are not doing a good job of keeping track of Olsen.

Worst case scenario happens. We get behind by more than a TD early.

Looks grim.

Frustrating way to do it, too. If the team had better hands it would be a different game. Morrah, Obomanu, and Babineaux have had horrible drops.

Yeah, that hurts. We have to make the plays today, not the other way around. A Babs INT there would have quelled the Bears momentum a bit. Now being down 14-0, the Bears D can get after Hass, the crowd is in the game, and the weather is poor for our offense.

All things are heavily tilted in the Bears favor.

I think we have to strike soon.

I think almost all our remaining hope relies upon BIG defensive plays, like sacks and INT's and fumbles.

I'm close to thinking it's over...
