Random Trade Thread [2010-2011]

Post#1 » by Aaron Brooks » Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:07 am

I just posted this over in the trade board

Aaron Brooks wrote:MIL in: Luis Scola, Brian Cardinal (filler/expiring)
MIL out: Corey Maggette, Larry Sanders

Jennings / Boykins
Salmons / Dooling
Mbah A Moute / CDR
Scola / Ilyasova
Bogut / Gooden

It's no secret that the Bucks are one of the best defensive teams in the league, but they are also one of the worst offensive teams. Scola can compliment Bogut the same way that he was suppose to compliment Yao, and Bogut can hide Scola's defensive deficiencies just like Yao did. Did I mention they're also getting rid of Maggette?

HOU in: Brendan Haywood. Larry Sanders
HOU out: Luis Scola, Jared Jeffries

Lowry / Brooks
Martin / Lee
Battier / Budinger
Hayes / Hill
Haywood / Miller

The Rockets are on the opposite end of that spectrum, they can put up points, but they give up more. Moving Scola and acquiring a legit C moves Hill back to his natural position. This trade gives the Rockets a defensive presence in the middle and a young defensive center for the future.

DAL in: Corey Maggette
DAL out: Brendan Haywood, Brian Cardinal, 2011 1st

Kidd / Barea
Stevenson / Terry
Maggette / Marion
Dirk / Marion
Chandler / Ajinca

Maggette fills the void left by Butler and Dallas gets rid of Haywoods contract.

MIN in: Jared Jeffries, 2011 1st (DAL)
Min out: Nothing, they help facilitate the trade

that doesn't really improve our team
might as well just keep losing and get better draft pick next year
Scola is BYC it's tough to get equal value in return if we trade him this year
wait until offseason

Trade works in trade machine. The trade would actually set us up to get a star more by getting Sanders (Prospect) and we could probably squeeze a 1st out of MIL. Teams that are willing to trade their stars are looking to rebuild and won't want a piece like Scola (Age & Contract), contending teams can't afford to acquire him unless they have a defensive presence to pair him up with (and theres only a handful of those around).

enough with prospect
we got 3 already
time to get a damn superstar
btw next year draft prospect is very bad
getting pick for next year is not a good idea

i'd definately go for it, the only problem is what the clips think of battier. They did say they wanted a "significant" upgrade @ the sf position.

I hate the Scola for Haywood trade. Brenda sucks and has motivation issues. He only plays consistently well in contract seasons.

What about this:

Houston trades: Battier & Brooks
Portland trades: Miller & Batum

Lineup for Houston:

PG: Lowry, Miller
SG: Martin, Lee, Williams
C: Hayes, Hill
SF: Batum, Budinger
PF: Scola, Patterson, Jefferies

IR: Yao, B. Miller, Smith

Maybe Portland adds a 1st Rounder via New Orleans?

I'd do it if Portland throws in a first. Throw in Bud if they want.

jahlil okafor has some of the best post moves in the last 30 years and the dude can't even get on the floor

Return to Houston Rockets
