Andre Iguodala is a punk

Post#1 » by Clippersfan86 » Mon Jan 17, 2011 3:38 am

So I really dislike this guy. Why would he punk his own rookie like that??? I hope Brand is happy to be a Sixer now because that franchise is falling apart and they have ZERO cohesion among teammates. Aminu and Bledsoe make way worse plays than Turner did here and you won't see Baron or Kaman elbow them in the chest during a game? WTF man. As a leader, best player, team captain of the team you should NEVER treat a rookie this way. He should expect rookie mistakes.

Pretty hard to misinterpret that man. It looks like Turner was talking to Doug Collins or an assistant who was at halfcourt (was looking in that direction yelling something) and Iguodala says something in passing and elbows him in the chest. Can't be much more simple than that. No reason for this.

that wasn't malicious at all? it was like a "hey rookie, get your head in the game" type of nudge.

You realize that Turner is facing away from the bench, right? He was talking to Hawes.

Really.... LOL. It looked like just a little more than a nudge. Turner even threw his hand up afterwards like "WTF??"

Why would elbow him though and in the sternum of all places? Elbows can hurt... I think Iggy's just insecure that Turner will be better than him someday. That was definitely a punk ass thing to do.

Yea my bad. I just know it wasn't trash talk like guy above said. From this clip I couldn't really make out the players or bench in the split second it flashed. Not exactly HD ;p.

 I don't think Iggy is worried about that at all. Still, that thing was pretty suspect. The stopping an argument explanation is the most logical one.

I never liked Iggy. He always seemed like a dick to me.
Edit: I just read Turner's lips. He was talking to Hawes because Hawes wanted him to shoot and he said "calm the **** down." Then Iggy elbowed him as if to say "stfu." I still don't like Iggy though.

It's pretty obvious that he was arguing with Spencer Hawes as someone pointed out. After the play Spencer started talking to him about something and then Turner looked like he was barking back...Iggy was a) stopping the argument or b) putting the rookie in line, basically saying, "Shut up rookie."

EDIT: Spencer told him to shoot the ball, it appeared he disagreed.

The guy is the #2 overall pick in the draft, he shouldn't be discouraged like that. The sixers suck anyways, they should at least develop him properly. Does he even start?

Iggy knows that Turner will be the one to replace him as best 76er

Glad you guys actually went ahead and solved the mystery of this play Sherlock style. Nonetheless it was stupid. I agree with Chicity dude is #2 pick and should be being developed and supported by his teammates. Not treated like this. I just hope he escapes that hell hole. Look at ALL up and coming teams you'll find something in common. Chemistry. Thunder from 2-3 years ago, Clippers from this year, Bobcats last year... list goes on. Young teams on the up generally get along and have great chemistry. Young, rebuilding teams like the Sixers who have no chemistry on or off the court generally stay bad for a long time.

Theyre grown athletes, playing a physical sport...sometimes tough love is needed, or like everyone else said, maybe stopping an argument...it's not like Iggy just met Turner, we have no idea the relationship they have off the court...like i said, could just be tough love...i know if I was Evan Turner or Iggy I would laugh that people are even discussing so insignificant...this is even smaller than LeBump 8-)

Way to not hold them accountable for a lack of professionalism. Even if the sport is soft now... there is no need to do things like that. Tough love or not.. save it for after the damn game.
