GT: Nuggets vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sun Jan 16, 2011 12:23 am

When: 9:00 PM ET, January 16, 2011
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

VS

Starting Lineups:

Nuggets:
PG - Chauncey Billups
SG - Arron Afflalo
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Kenyon Martin
C - Nene

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobli
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Dejuan Blair

The Nuggets are always a tough team to play and this game isn't going to be a walk in the park. The Nuggets are healthy and have Billups and Martin back in the lineup. The key to this game is going to be containing Melo, we need to make him a volume scorer and its going to take a team effort to stop him.

Bonner will miss this game with a knee injury.

Go Spurs!!

Now we have 14 home straight wins we gotta keep that mark and continue.
As for Melo his average against us is 20.6 and that his baddest result. It might be also his last game as a Nuggets player. But that is not still set.
With the Billups and Martin as starters Nuggets might give us a headache. But with concentrated game we can manage them. It's all about good team work.

Bad feeling on this game. We're at home and they got Melo issues. We should win, but I won't be surprised if we lose. I'm expecting Melo to have a huge game today. Sort of like a payback for that last second charge call.

Splitter should be getting playing time with Bonner injured.

BTW, just read Bogut's interview and came across something that I think holds true for Splitter if he's going to be a better player.
When you were the overall No. 1 player in the 2005 draft, did that bring extra pressure?

AB: There always is. And I wasn’t ready to play in the NBA my rookie year. I had to come out because I was going to be a Top 3 or 4 pick. As far as skill level, I was definitely ready, but physically, I was 230, 235, playing the four-five spot in this league doesn’t cut it. I tried to stick with it and I knew I wouldn’t have a great year coming in just because my body wasn’t where it needed to be.

Like I said, Splitter needs to get bigger and stronger because he does play physical but just doesn't have the strength yet. It's all the more reason why I feel Splitter isn't likely to contribute much anymore this year. This summer, he needs to dedicate himself to getting stronger. If he comes back a stronger/heavier player, then he'll start getting bigger minutes especially with Dice gone.

It's a back to back game for Denver. However they kind of destroyed the Cavs so their starters should still be relatively rested.

Easy win for us. We are at home and playing on National TV. Spurs come out and take care of business early. All those distractions in the locker room for Denver causes way too many problems.

Great win. Nuggets have too many knuckleheads on the team preventing them from success.

I'm 99.9% sure it's because they know I'm watching the game.
