Player of the Game - Wiz vs Jazz (1.17.11)

Sorry this is up really late, but it's been father/daughter day on this wonderful Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Hey anyone can put up a POG thread after a game - actually, Wizstorm does these really well. Don't wait on anyone if you don't see one up as soon as a game is over.

Perhaps the most impressive win of the season for YOUR Washington Wizards. Let's get to the nominees for Player of the Game.

IMO it could be Nick, Dray or Wall. If I have to pick one, I have to go with Nick.. He came up big in crunch time. But really it was a good collective team win.

Wow. Really hard to call this one.

Dray, Wall and Nick are all pretty much a tie.

Dray has been struggling all year and he is playing injured. When he feel and hurt it again before halftime, I didnt think he was coming back. And he was just balln before that. The shot was wet. Rebounds. D. Awesome game. First time he looked like Dray from last year all year long. So on all of that, I wanta give it to Dray because he has struggled to repeat what he did last year and he has played injured so much.

But

Wall played a great game. Career high 15 assists and he just played smart. He took his mid ranger with confidence. He even clutched and adjusted in the air at least one. He drove. He fought hard on D. And Wall has been injured and struggling to find his game lately also. So you wanta give it to Wall.

Wow, Wall and Dray finding their swag in the same game.. Remarkable.

Then

Nick with the DAGGER 3. Awesome. He started so slow the entire first half and even into the 3rd. But he didnt force things. But he got to the line and made them and then he made some amazingly hard shots later to go along with some open looks. He drove. He played D. He fought for position. He posted up the smaller player. Amazingly smart game with heart from Nick and CLUTCH.

Damn near impossible to pick one of these guys over another.

For this one game, I think we need to add a line for selection that is.

Dray, Nick and Wall were all balln and amazing.

I have to go with Blatche -- first really good effort of the year. Nicely done, and I hope he keeps it up.

N1 averaged more than two points per shot attempt. Crazy efficiency.

All the years of having a small, unathletic team with guys like Ruffin and Songaila manning the middle are over. Wizards young guys with great length are 20, 25, 24, and soon 23 years old.

For POTG: 1. Blatche, 2. Young 3. Wall
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I didn't actually see the game, but I think miller31time's performance speaks for itself.

Couldn't watch the game, could only listen on the radio.

I gotta go with Blatche here. Young played very well, but I want to make sure to reward Blatche for his defensive intensity. We've improved dramatically in defending the pick and roll these last couple of games, and that's almost exclusively due to Blatche. He also continues to rebound well. We've won four of the last five games that Blatche has played.

1. Blatche
2. Young
3. Wall

Blatche had a great game, but I'm not willing to give him player of the game for doing the things he's supposed to... Nick Young hit some clutch shots and his ability to get to the line was the difference in the game.

Nick Young all the way.

+1 for Young, he is our best player capable of creating and hitting clutch-shots with-range, and he hit the important ones.

Overall, guys were hitting their shots pretty-well yesterday, Andray looks-like he has his mojo back.

Voting for Blatche. He played very smart basketball (with the exception of one TERRIBLE pass =p) and really brought intensity to the defensive end. When he plays a complete game like that, the Wiz usually win - and I don't chuck my remote at the wall. So, for the sake of my poor, battered tv remote... GO BLATCHE!

Yup, and the three that sealed the victory towards the end of the game.

Voted Java and would have voted improved team bball iq and quick rotations on defense. Rashard Standing up for young when Milisap lead with a cheap shoulder into the young's mouth. Rashard showed true wiz toughness.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands
