Sure wish they'd get back to losing. :-?

Losing a single game is never sufficient cause for firing a head coach, it is usually the culmination of events/issues that lead to a firing. There already exist, sufficient cause for firing Flip.

This is getting ridiculous.

Blake Griffin last night:
19-24 from the field
9-11 from the line
47 points
14 boards
3 assists
4 turnovers

Yeah, Imagine if LeBron had gone to the Clips like Ron suggested.

Yeah, that would have been a better team than Miami over the long haul, especially when you consider that they wouldn't have had had to thrash their roster.

Jordan/Kaman
Griffin
James/Aminu
Gordon
Davis/Bledsoe

Might need another year or two of seasoning, but it's a higher ceiling and more flexible as far as trades. The Clips also have the Wolves 2012 pick unprotected, which is potentially ridiculous.

I'm guessing, but LeBron probably would have gotten jealous of Griffin; it's one thing to sometimes semi-defer to Wade, who's three years older, but it's another thing to be shown up by a younger guy who's more genuinely popular.

What an exciting day in the NBA yesterday. I wish I had had time to see more.

I did catch most of the Magic-Celtics game. Another great battle. With word that Perk is already starting to practice, Boston continues to be my pick to win it all. They're never going to have to double Howard, they're way too deep for the Heat, and they have enough size/depth to beat the Lakers and Spurs. Playoffs should be awesome though.

Another entirely inconsequential showing by Gilbert Arenas. The poor guy is just a complete shell of his former self, and Reggie Miller was talking about it throughout the broadcast. All the background noise aside and pseaking from a pure basketball perspective, I think the Wiz are going to be very happy over the next few years that they made this Arenas-Lewis deal. Arenas just isn't anywhere close to the player he once was. Lewis fills a much bigger need for this team for the time being.

Alonzo Gee had 6 steals and 8 rebounds for Cleveland.

To make this even more ridiculous, think of what it would look like if they traded for CP3. Davis, Aminu, and a few draft picks to have a core of Paul/James/Griffin. Who stops that? Who tries? That team doesn't run the fast break, they crash it like a freight train.

The Clips still have some assets and cap space to go after Melo and/or CP3. They should have a lotto pick this year, the aforementioned Minny pick next year and a decent heap of expirings next year. If Griff continues his takeover, don't count the Clips out of a big splash acquisition.

Unfortunately they have an owner who is a complete idiot and cheapskate. If they were bought by someone semi-competent, it could be a whole different story.

How about the new-look Pistons knocking-off Orlando, they stumble across a winning rotation with Rip out of the lineup.

Yeah it will be interesting to see how the Rip situation plays out in Detroit. With the Melo to NJ deal falling apart, I don't see a trade market for him. However I doubt Detroit wants to keep him.

KG is as classy as ever in the Phoenix Suns game. He pops Channing Frye in the nuts on a jump shot and then get under him so that Frye would land on his foot and twist his ankle. Even for KG, two douche moves on one play is impressive.

Kings beat the Lakers at Staples. Cousins had 27/10/2/2/3.

Bobcats got their third straight road win. They beat Golden State. After going 9-19 under Larry Brown, Charlotte is 11-6 under Silas.

I had them in the playoffs before the season and it looks like they might make it after all.

It's astonishing that teams keep hiring brown when he does the same thing at every stop...

Seeing the replay I think KG should be suspended a game.

The Eastern playoff race is shaping-up to be a replay of last year, Charlotte (Thanks to Silas) and the Bucks are getting it together and zeroing-in on playoff-spots, there will be a three-way race for that 8th spot with Philly in the mix now.

Don't forget about Indy. I'm surprised by Philly, especially after how they started. Doug Collins may be one of the best coaches for young teams trying to improve.

But I'm not as surprised by Detroit only being 2.5 games out. If they can get anything for Hamilton at the deadline, they could make a run at that 8th spot as well.
