Atlanta is the only team that might make sense for both Nash and the Suns...and that isn't going to happen unless ATL is willing to part with Horford... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4pxh2hv (plus pick(s) to the Suns) ...but that won't happen.
Personally, if Nash asked to go, I'd love to see him go to the Clippers. It would be a blast to watch him work his magic with Griffin and Gordon. And the Suns could get a very high draft pick (Clips own the Wolves 2011 #1) in addition to players. But no, that certainly isn't going to happen either.
He's staying here as the Suns continue to rebuild. That's a good thing.
Why would it only happen if they are willing to part with Horford?
You are way off base with that. They would rather trade Smith than Horford, but i have come to the understanding that they wouldnt really want to trade either of them. A trade would most likely consist of Crawfords expiring, Teague, a pick or two, and some filler. It would work alot better if we got a 3rd team involved (like the Bulls), who are in need of a starting SG.
But to say that the only way Nash to ATL would work is if the gave up Horford is kinda ludicrous.
I just don't believe the Suns will trade Nash to the Hawks unless Horford or Smith (in that order) is coming back. He's too F'n good...and despite the last month's shaky play the Nash/Suns combo can still be resurrected with the reverse tsunami trade to come that lands them a legit PF. We have assets...but we can also wait until the off season. No panic, this is a transition year.
Nash is not going to be traded unless it's a Killer deal.
