Atlanta is the only team that might make sense for both Nash and the Suns...and that isn't going to happen unless ATL is willing to part with Horford... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4pxh2hv (plus pick(s) to the Suns) ...but that won't happen.

Personally, if Nash asked to go, I'd love to see him go to the Clippers. It would be a blast to watch him work his magic with Griffin and Gordon. And the Suns could get a very high draft pick (Clips own the Wolves 2011 #1) in addition to players. But no, that certainly isn't going to happen either.

He's staying here as the Suns continue to rebuild. That's a good thing.

Why would it only happen if they are willing to part with Horford?

You are way off base with that. They would rather trade Smith than Horford, but i have come to the understanding that they wouldnt really want to trade either of them. A trade would most likely consist of Crawfords expiring, Teague, a pick or two, and some filler. It would work alot better if we got a 3rd team involved (like the Bulls), who are in need of a starting SG.

But to say that the only way Nash to ATL would work is if the gave up Horford is kinda ludicrous.

I just don't believe the Suns will trade Nash to the Hawks unless Horford or Smith (in that order) is coming back. He's too F'n good...and despite the last month's shaky play the Nash/Suns combo can still be resurrected with the reverse tsunami trade to come that lands them a legit PF. We have assets...but we can also wait until the off season. No panic, this is a transition year.

Nash is not going to be traded unless it's a Killer deal.

If the Suns do nothing trade-wise and just keep fighting to find the chemistry... given the state of the lower parts of the West (especially if the Melo trade happens) we'll make it to the 8th or 7th seed. There is abundant (albeit strangely appropriated) talent on this team. If the right deal shows up...go for it. Otherwise, just press on and get in with what we've got. The Suns actually match-up pretty good with the Spurs. Might be an interesting 1-8 first round match-up. No title talk of course this year, just positioning and small victories.

There are three requirements for ANY deal involving Nash:

A young, legit PF

A young, emerging PG

and a pick.

....I don't see anyone who has that combination. The Hawks wouldn't trade Horford OR Smith to get Nash, considering they would want to pair Nash WITH those guys.

A deal is virtually impossible at this stage, and pretty stupid anyway. We're slowly starting to come together also. The idea was dumb to begin with.

That is true. I guess some people (including me) couldn't really see the light at the end of the tunnel when we went through that tough period when we lost to the 76-er's, Clippers and got blown out by the Nuggets.

I think the best deal is to keep Steve as long as he wants to be here and use him as bait for some FA signings. Players still want to play with him and I think that's got huge value to the franchise.

I just hope Sarver doesn't get excited once we cross over .500 and decide to make another stupid trade for a possible short term gain, i.e. our 2011 pick included in a deal. The last 3 games are fools gold, this team is not that good.

Seems like he will be, considering you guys are playing better and in the hunt for a playoff spot.

instead of hoping he doesn't make a stupid trade, let's hope he makes an intelligent trade.

Oh wait... You actually meant that.

I'm just happy if Sarver doesnt manage the screw the franchise over every time he picks up the phone.

well, the good news is that Sarver isn't picking up the phone, either to make calls or field them.

Yes. That's why I was so worried when we went into last offseason without a real GM.
