Am I the only one...

Post#1 » by SheedsWeed » Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:31 pm

...that is absolutely scared for this game? I've been talking to some people (not on this board) and a lot of them seem to already have us in the superbowl and would bet their house on it.

While I DO believe the Packers will win, I'm not sure I feel it's a lock. I mean...yeah the first game in Chicago during the season we clearly beat ourselves, but I mean...the last game we sorta struggled on offense, only winning by a touchdown in a game that some people think the Bears gave up on anyway.

I don't know...are you approaching this game with caution, or are you pretty much going into this thinking we've won?

Weather and the field are the only reasons I'm nervous. Nothing about the Bears specifically scares me. If we lose, I don't anticipate feeling as though we were beaten by the better team, but that some kind of fluky thing happened.

Just being honest.

I think we are a better team than the Bears, but not by as wide of a margin as most here do.

The Bears have pretty much always won ugly. The year they went to the Super Bowl recently they won ugly. That's just what they do. They play good defense, they force big TOs, they make big plays on Special Teams.

If they create a score on defense or special teams, they are going to have a great chance to beat us. If Jay Cutler can play a game where he doesn't turn the ball over (I don't see this one happening) then I could see them beating us.

We are going to have to play well to win, no doubt about it. If the weather is bad, then the game gets even closer because then Rodgers effect on the game is lessened.

Actually I completely agree with you SheedsWeed. This game is no gimmie. The Bears always play us tough and are very capable of causing turnovers and making a big play off it. Their special teams are very good as well and can make an explosive kickoff/punt TD at any point.

I do think we are the overall better team but I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic about this game.

Oh...

Clifton and Bulaga had better show up too. Peppers had better not be terrorizing Rodgers the entire game or it could get ugly.

I"m scared that the Bears are going to get pressure on Rodgers with only a 4-man rush. That's pretty much it. If they have to blitz to get pressure or they are just unable to get any pressure at all, I think we will do just fine. I'm not worried about their offense vs. our defense at all.

This game is certainly not a gimme but I'm certainly not scared either. We haven't been behind by more than 7 points in any game. First time that's happened in 41 years. There is no doubt the Bears can win this game. If they do, congrats to them. I still like our chances.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Maybe scared isn't the right adjective I should have used. I guess "nervous" would be more appropriate, not that it changes the question much, if at all.

No, you're not the only one. We lost our fair share of close games this season...I can't see how anyone could be sure that we're going to blow them out or win the game.

It's going to be a battle.

This may be the greatest Packer game I could ever see in my 20 year fandom of the Packers.

I'm pretty nervous. The stakes are just so damn high. I live in Chicago and will take a ton of heat if the Bears win. I know that the Packers are a better team than the Bears, but the Bears' luck should not be messed with. I've watched a ton of Bears games this year and though that they got outplayed in most of their wins. On paper we should win. On the litter box that they call Soldier Field it's up in the air.

I'm nervous about losing to the Bears in general, but if it was the same roster in a different city, I'd definitely rank this as the third most worried i've been of the three playoff games. It's more the Chicago element and having to deal with their fans if they win and list to two weeks of Bears SB hype that I'm concerned about.

Spread them out, block their front 4 effectively, tackle on ST, profit.

Weather affecting our passing game

Devin Hester returning a kickoff or punt

We turn it over once or twice while the Bears don't turn it over

The game being close enough where Mason Crosby has to be counted on to make a late FG over 40 yards

Any combination of those happening will give the Bears a chance because it's been awhile since our offense put a bunch of points on the Bears defense.

The Packers are a tier above the Bears, and would win something like at least 60 out of 100 times against the Bears. Unfortunately, that leaves around 40 that the Bears would win.

I'm nervous as hell. It's crazy cause just yesterday I was still basking in the glow of the ATL win but today I came crashing down like a rock. The main thing is the Chicago factor. As satisfying as this run has been, losing to the Bears in the NFC Championship would just be a crushing way to end this season. I grew being use to not just beating the Bears but absolutely rolling them up on a regular basis and this team hasn't come close to doing that. This is going to be a close game and I still don't trust MM in close games. Unless we roll them up ATL style I don't think we win.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

LMAO @ both team's fans being scared because they don't want to lose to their biggest rival.
