When is the all-star game compared to the trade deadline? Could Melo hold up any deal so he can start in that game? Does he have a bonus in his contract for starting an all-star game?

I'm sure the answer has been posted in part 10, so i'm sorry, but where is the interview? ESPN? Before the LAL/DAL game? As NJ is losing to UTAH?

The russian is speaking to the press. I assume you can watch it on the Nyets channel before their game.

i'm 80% sure that the Russian is going to be so eager to make some headlines that he will be fined for tampering by the end of the week...despite his claims turning out to be false

I'm guessing on YES during their Game tonight? He's in town for Russian night.

One other item of interest: If the Nets fail to get Anthony, the Nets won't just close shop. The Jazz's Andrei Kirilenko is a free agent this summer and knows Prokhorov well enough that the two have dinner in Russia when Kirilenko goes home every summer. According to the Daily News, Kirilenko is on the team's radar as a potential player and front-office official.

So while he's not exactly Carmelo Anthony, the Nets have a Plan B. Even if it's just Andrei Kirilenko.

MODS: is there anyway to have sub threads? So one Melo thread show up on the main knicks forum, than by clicking that, you would have seperate Melo threads? If so, that would be much better than this big jumbled mess of a Melo thread we currently have going now

The only reason this story is out is because they are both Russian, it's pathetic how simple minded reporters are these days, with stories like this one. Kirilenko has even said the same thing today, that he is friends with the Nets owner but is not interested in playing for them at this time, his first choice is Utah. But because we are both Russian, people like to think we are going to join forces one day, but that is simply not the case.

tribjazz Blog: Jazz's Kirilenko dismisses Nets, Prokhorov talk as "rumors" http://bit.ly/gMvQAo

Jazz's Kirilneko said that the fact that he's one of two Russian players in NBA makes it easy for people to connect him with Prokhorov.

Jazz's Kirilenko gave no indication he's interested in playing for Nets in the future. Made clear Prokhorov talk was out of his hands.

Jazz's Kirilenko dismissed talk about him playing with Nets as "rumors." Said Utah is still his first preference next season.
