Chicago's a hockey town. They just needed a team back. Chicago's finally got one.

That and the fact the Bulls and Bears suck. Blackhawks are the only winning team in town.

Hawks see 1st-class talent in 1st-rounders

With the addition of 2005 first-round draft pick Jack Skille to their roster Saturday, the Blackhawks have their last five top choices and six of their last seven with the team.

Skille will join Tuomo Ruutu (2001), Brent Seabrook ('03), Cam Barker ('04), Jonathan Toews ('06) and Patrick Kane ('07) as the Hawks play host to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night.

oh baby this team is gonna be really really good for many years...

I knew I should have bought tickets when they were 25% off in November. I never thought the Hawks would sell these games out. Meh, I went to the Columbus loss this year but got to see Toews and Kane dominate and I want to go to at least 1 more regular season game this year and possibly a playoff game.

Skille has been unreal in Rockford this season. It's not just that he can put the back in the net, he moves with the puck with such confidence and is constantly involved in the action. He should be great for the Hawks.

I gotta get to a game somehow. Problem is, it's an hour and a half drive into Chicago, and no one I know comes remotely close to being a Hawks fan. I could take the train from Harvard than a cab, but still, going alone just ain't right.

I didn't know a place could run out of standing room only tickets.

The one I went to in October was on a Tuesday night and there were about 10,000 there but I still had a great time.

Return to Chicago Blackhawks
