yeah thats more than a fair offer. interesting how chandler fired his agent today. looks like a 3 team trade is needed. i think the problem is denver's reluctance to tell the knicks which player would interest them in a 3 team trade, leaving the knicks to just recruit teams and target guys that denver might not even want.

It is up to Denver to search for a better deal or come to Walsh and say what else they want. Do they want us to add Gallo? Do they want us to take on Al? Do they prefer a pick from a third team? A simple no means they don't want to negotiate.

Exactly...

I am told they like Fields, they like Chandler but don't want a key piece of the trade to be a player entering free agency, and they are not all that enamored of Gallinari. So that's why a lot of people think this ends up being a three- or four-way trade in which Chandler ends up with a team that would not be entering the type of rebuilding mode Denver would be moving toward.

What's the CBA say about giving Chandler an extension as part of any deal?

I'm almost certain we can't. The time period for granting Chandler an extension expired last October and he will be an RFA. That said, it doesn't really matter as the team that gets him, and is fine with paying him big money, has the right of first refusal and can match any offer.

That's my point... Trade Azu's contract, AR, Gallo and Chandler all for 1st rounders and ship Four of them to Denver. Obviously, you only do that with an agreement in place with Denver.

4 first round picks, Curry, 3 million for Melo+ Billups or Balkman..

What is the most amount of first-rounders we can get?

Who can net us a 1st rdr? Can Toney Douglas get us one? Can 3 M, and a 2nd Rd Pick, Mozgov (someone would want him I would hope)? Obviously AR can get us one?

If we get a 2012 pick, we can trade Our 11, 13,

So What is the likleyhood, and how many picks can we get?

IF Denver just wants to "go nuts" with amassing as many 1st rounders as possible (which appears to be the case since half the Nets 1st rounders being offered likely weren't going to be lottery picks) then yeah the Knicks can probably buy several bottom of the 1st round picks from the top teams in the NBA (Spurs, Mavericks, Celtics, etc).

yeah denver's concern isnt losing him, its that they dont want to sign him a large long term deal.

Re: NY radio report that DEN rejected Wilson, Landry, Eddy + pick: if Nugs interested in that, this would have been done a long time ago.

But truth is, DEN-NYK is still very much in preliminary stage in the wake of the Nets retreat.

Den isn't going to accept any deal from us until the week of the deadline. That's just a fact.

If they shot down Wilson + Fields + 1st and expect to get much more, there's no deal to be made. Sorry Carmelo lovers. Time to test his mettle.

I am also assuming that's the 2014 first because if we are trading AR to get that pick then thanks Denver for not accepting that ridiculous offer.

I mean they aren't accept it now but that doesn't mean they won't accept it in late February. Any deal that is made now means we got fleeced bc Denver will only make a trade if they think it's a homerun. close to the deadline though they will be freaking out.
