They could get the field half and half. Half the field would be a hockey rink and the other half would be the Rose Bowl. The ratings would be huge.

But if the NHL wants viewers they need to do it on a non big sports day. Like when kids and parents have nothing on and they flip to the hockey game. They learn they like at and volaa. IF it has competition the stubborn fans won't budge.

And if 2 states teams are playing why not Chicago and Washington? Both are low attendace getters(Chicago is ascending I know) Toews, OVechkin, Kane, Backstrom, Semin and maybe Jack Skille. Switch to defense and you have Alzner and Seabrook and no real good goalies....a high scoring game and the nhls future. That is what the NHL needs and wants right?

What wouldn't surprise me is if the NHL put a game at a neutral site and see if other cities will come to an NHL game. Put one in Arrowhead in Kansas City, they've been begging for a team for a few years now. If they attract 80,000 people, then you know you've got a highly potential market there.

Put two outdoor games on the same day and make it an event.

The NHL struck gold with this game. They need to manipulate correctly and they'll get back on the sports map.
