I think we will get a backup G in the Denver deal, especially if it's a 3 or 4 way deal. Camby's only out 3 weeks, we could get him if we don't give up too much in the Melo deal.

You can really tell that all these rumors are distracting Denver.

If Denver's FO actually cared about their team they would settle this now somehow by trading him or just shuting down trade talk.

Report is we offered Landry, Wilson, and a first rounder.

I like that offer for Melo.

Saw the Nuggets game today and specifically focused on Melo and he was Amare bad. 23 points on 24 shots, couldn't guard Artest and got frustrated offensively, complained and received a tech.

Seems like the Knicks and Melo could both use a change, give them all three Chandler, Gallo and Fields if you have too, just get it done already.

A Blazers official confirmed that the team has interest in Randolph, but added that the team is not getting great reports on the 21-year-old.

"But he's also a guy that has the talent and is young enough where he might just work out," the source said. "There aren't many players in the draft like him."

The Blazers have two first-round picks and would be willing to swap Randolph for one of them. Knicks president Donnie Walsh met with Randolph's agent, Bill Duffy, last week in New York and it is clear that the Knicks will attempt to move Randolph before the Feb. 24 trading deadline.

The Knicks also have spoken with the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves about a deal for Randolph, who was acquired last July from Golden State in the sign-and-trade involving David Lee.

HONESTLY SPEAKING
Timofey Mozgov was not able to watch Mikhail Prokhorov's press conference on Wednesday, but the Knicks' center believes his fellow countrymen when the Nets' .Russian owner says the team is no longer pursuing Carmelo Anthony.

Assuming the above proposal of Chandler/Fields/1st was true, Walsh is working persistently, and based off of both team's schedule's, I think(Hope) a deal could happen either Monday or Tuesday. We don't play until Thursday after Monday, Denver starts a long road trip; usually a good time for trades.

But Chandler/Fields/1st isn't going to get it done. Come on Walsh, you just saw how the Nuggets whore'd out the Nets...
The Knicks are back.

Lacob said the new ownership group has already agreed that, if an elite player is available, the Warriors would be willing to increase their payroll above the current luxury-tax level. Yes, Lacob said, he has been actively monitoring the Anthony situation. "We've had discussions with Denver," Lacob said. "And I think it's possible. But unfortunately, he clearly wants to be one place geographically."

Yea... Denver isn't paying the $40 mil left on Deng's contract. Fat chance.

Dallas and houston appear to be the main contenders. Ny will get their star this summer, and it'll prob be melo anyway.

Deng has negative value. Deng/Gibson as a package is actually a net negative for Denver. To equal that offer, we'd have to give up nothing AND make Denver include a first rounder along with Carmelo.

Sources also say sentiment around the league that Anthony will sign with New York is so strong that many teams that have been willing to trade for Anthony as a rental are now reconsidering. For instance, the Rockets have long been willing to deal for Anthony without his signing a contract extension, hoping they could convince him to stay in Houston long-term. But if the Rockets feel their chances of convincing him are slim, they're not going to offer much, if anything.

This is why Denver is holding out. They're hoping we fall on hard times during the rough part of our schedule and the fans' overreact. Let's face it patience isn't a NY trait.

They no longer have to wait for that because not only are we sliding, we're going down an avalanche.

He sounds like 85% of the people in this forum that keep screaming "don't trade Landry Fields".

In my opinion, i think we should do a combination of Chandler, Landry Fields, Curry, AR, and 2 1st round Picks for Carmelo, JR Smith, and Al Harrington. If thats even possible. I think the Nuggets would think about that.
