But if the Rockets feel their chances of convincing him are slim, they're not going to offer much, if anything.

I thought this comment regarding this story was hilarious.

Are these the same sources that told you Lebron wanted to go to Chicago? That story was never true.
I seriously doubt that Minny or Indy would give a 1st round pick for Randolph. In fact, I can't see any team giving a 1st round pick for him. There's a reason he gets almost zero PT with the Knicks and isn't because the Knicks are so deep at PF they don't need him.
I also think the apparent obsession Melo has with the Knicks is manufactured. Lebron was also obsessed with the Knicks a few years ago. How'd that turn out? Seems like the same M.O. devised by the Knicks.
This is the same crap as last season. If Melo wants to win, he'll go to the Bulls. If the Nuggs were smart, they'd take Deng for Melo or Deng and Boozer for Melo and Nene and call it a day. That leaves them with a playoff team that can compete and bring in money for the franchise."---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Randolph thing is stupid cause there's multiple team that would give up a 1st rounder and nobody has denied that.
Lebron was never obsessed with the Knicks. There was never one report that said LeBron wants to be a knick, it was all the assumption that he wanted to make big money and NY was the place. Melo is literally forcing his way to the Garden. And the Knicks have never made this their story, most of the writers reporting Melo's NYK desire don't even work in NY.
And if Melo wants to win he'll go too the bulls? Lol Deng and Boozer for Melo and Nene? That's terrible, I'm sure Denver is dying to add the remaining over $100 million that Boozer and Deng will bring and pay over 50% of their cap to those 2 players for the next 3 seasons.
I get this guy's probably a Bulls fan and doesn't want the Knicks to get Melo and wants the Bulls to get him, but making this little sense is just (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Do people think when they make trades? I think alot of people think that making trades in NBA video games are similiar to real life

George Karl was asked if Melo saga can go all the way to Feb. 24: "I think it can go further than that.''

Wasn't Uriji hired with the edict to not get "Bosh'ed" or "Lebron'ed"?
The spite is gonna set their franchise back 5 (more) years.

I think Denver should just let him go for nothing but picks.. They should just tank for the next few years so they can keep getting potential top 5 picks in the draft.

Saying that Melo can 'make up lost money in endorsements' is one of the silliest statements I've ever heard. Whoever is making those types of statements are either ignorant or flat out lying. The money he loses out in not signing now cannot be made up.

There's more than one breadwinner in the Anthony family. If Dolan gives Melo's wife a fat television contract in Cablevision, there's the extra money. Think outside the box.

Amar'e is getting more exposure, more hype, more ESPN coverage than he ever has in his career. He has another Nike deal coming up, and you can be sure he'll be getting more than if he were still a Sun.

This mantra of that there are no extra endorsements in NY is the same crap you spewed with LeBron. Although, even then, I admitted LeBron didn't really have much to gain since he was already a superstar and getting max exposure in Cleveland. Carmelo on the other hand is a fringe star who needs the bigger stage.

Lol @ cavsfan. . .
I like what i'm seeing in Broussards report, Melo still willing to wait it out.. seems like he's gona make Denver make a move.. I don't think there's any way Denver lets him stay, new CBA or not, them losing him is more important than him losing them..
Signing Melo in the off season would be fine, but tbh at this point I don't mind giving up a few players to get him here now...I want him and Amare on the same team for as long as possible and want things to really start moving now.

I like hearing Melo say he doesn't mind waiting, because I really don't want to lose Fields. But I'm also a little nervous, because something could come along that forces Melo to change his mind.

The NBAPA also hopes that CA doesn't make a decision based on fear of salary Armageddon in the new CBA. The feeling is that Hunter will never agree to Draconian cuts to superstar salary.
The reason we are losing is because our two captains are trying to do too much. Amare and Felton need to share the ball and trust their teammates. Taking half the shots and shooting under 40% is not going to win many games. Give it up.
The offer to Denver was more or less fair under the circumstances. Maybe a substitution here or there but nothing more. Carmelo will come here as a FA so the offer shouldn't be more than we would have to renounce or sacrifice in July.
The armchair GMing here is weak sauce. The panic mode is EXACTLY what Denver hopes for. The key is to know all the circumstances and force the other guy to blink. NY knows. Denver is finding out. Nuggets HAVE to blink if NY (and Melo) stays strong.
POST OF THE WEEK.
I have thought about it and I am guilty of panicking as well. Call Denver's bluff. No team is going to trade for him knowing that he's not signing long term. Not to mention, the last guy you want on your contending team is a guy that doesn't want to be there.

i tend to agree, the marketing thing is so overrated, i cant recall one athelete who came to NY took less $$ and said Im gonna make it up in endorsements
