Everybody seems to forget that we have assets not on the team roster. We have a guy named Jerome Jordan playing in Europe. Seven footer with a lot of length. He either makes Mozgov expendable or he is worth a pick. OR....we continue to develop him over there until '12 and use him as an asset to further the roster then. Folks, we are in pretty good shape with Walsh running things.

Both guys said a different thing each week during the whole 2010 mess. It's not like anybody was pulling a Sheridan and said "Lebron to Miami, 100%" from day one.

stephen a. said it way before broussard. thanks chief.

Smith’s website now boasts this message: “Ten days ago, FOX Sports Radio host Stephen A. Smith boldly proclaimed that sources told him superstar LeBron James, along with Chris Bosh, would be heading to Miami to join Dwyane Wade as members of the Miami Heat. And tonight, Smith’s proclamation rang true, as LeBron James has announced that he has decided to sign with the Heat, ending weeks of speculation as to where the NBA MVP would play next season.”

Are these the same sources that told you Lebron wanted to go to Chicago? That story was never true.

I seriously doubt that Minny or Indy would give a 1st round pick for Randolph. In fact, I can't see any team giving a 1st round pick for him. There's a reason he gets almost zero PT with the Knicks and isn't because the Knicks are so deep at PF they don't need him.

I also think the apparent obsession Melo has with the Knicks is manufactured. Lebron was also obsessed with the Knicks a few years ago. How'd that turn out? Seems like the same M.O. devised by the Knicks.

This is the same crap as last season. If Melo wants to win, he'll go to the Bulls. If the Nuggs were smart, they'd take Deng for Melo or Deng and Boozer for Melo and Nene and call it a day. That leaves them with a playoff team that can compete and bring in money for the franchise."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Randolph thing is stupid cause there's multiple team that would give up a 1st rounder and nobody has denied that.

Lebron was never obsessed with the Knicks. There was never one report that said LeBron wants to be a knick, it was all the assumption that he wanted to make big money and NY was the place. Melo is literally forcing his way to the Garden. And the Knicks have never made this their story, most of the writers reporting Melo's NYK desire don't even work in NY.

And if Melo wants to win he'll go too the bulls? Lol Deng and Boozer for Melo and Nene? That's terrible, I'm sure Denver is dying to add the remaining over $100 million that Boozer and Deng will bring and pay over 50% of their cap to those 2 players for the next 3 seasons.

I get this guy's probably a Bulls fan and doesn't want the Knicks to get Melo and wants the Bulls to get him, but making this little sense is just (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

lol who is this 1522scooter idiot?

It's not a realgm user, or he might be but under a different name. I meant to post the Chris Broussard blog article he commented it on. It's his espn user name. He commented on this Broussard article earlier in the day...and Yes, he is an absolute moron lol

and tbh, SAS said that lebron would team up with wade/bosh in passing weeks before he came out and officially said he had a source for it.

sas was also one of the guys who really pushed the conspiracy theories on why wade/bosh/lebron all had their free agencies coincide.

And at one time he was sure Lebron was Chicago bound. Don't give those guys retroactively credit for one of their guesses coming true.

The Miami thing was planned at least one year in advance, everybody knows that. Still there wasn't a single reporter with a strong stance on that possibility (like Sheridan now has regarding Melo and Knicks). They all were bumbling around.

A 2012 team of Billups, AA, Galo/Chandler, PF(??), Nene probably is closer to an 8th seed in the West than it is to a top 5 lottery pick. They have said themselves, they are looking to rebuild. It might actually be better for both team to not work out a trade.

That would only be true if you believe that Gallinari and/or Chandler aren't positive assets. If they keep Melo and let him walk they will have ended up with NOTHING to show for one of the top 5-7 players in the NBA other than capspace in however many years. That is CRAP. Even if they decide to cajol Nene to opt out, what does that do for them? What FA is going to want to sign up in a mid-market, with a team that will be rebuilding and a braintrust that, after this deal, will inevitably be viewed as over their heads? Letting him go for nothing? No that isn't as valuable as getting the guys the Knicks have offered. Even if you don't like them, you can move them to teams that do and get assets.

Again, if they were so valuable WE would have moved them by now to acquire the pieces for Melo.

You can say it 79 more times each time louder than the last and it still isn't going to mean ****.

Denver wasn't, and still may not be...ready to deal with us. Until they are, nothing's happening. We're not going to just start chucking away assets just in case Denver changes its tune. Only a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) would do that.

SAS said LeBron to Miami almost 2 weeks before FA even hit, then was hardly heard from again to even reaffirm his convictions. For all we know, he threw a dart on the wall, guessed correctly, and is being made a clairvoyant by some of you.

Didn't SAS also say with conviction that Melo is set on coming to NY back in like August or September?

The Nuggets absolutely HATE the Knicks organization. They don't want to do business with the Knicks unless they get to dump K-mart's contract. It absolutely KILLS them that Melo is intent on becoming a Knick.

That said, Denver would be the DUMBEST franchise in the NBA AFTER Cleveland IF they decided not to trade Melo. Get something rather than nothing...and the Knicks offering a first rounder and any combination of Gallo/Chandler with expiring contracts...that's just being Picky.

You're wrong.

Also called Amare to the prior to Free Agency and said we're going to offer Joe the max, but we never got the chance, and we all know we were about to do that.

third is AR for aforementioned trade for pick

yes these moves hurt for the short term, but for the summer, they are necessary...if we could clear around 10 mill and have 2 picks in the pocket, it'd be a solid start to the summer

Why would Portland trade for another injury prone big? As much as I like it from a Knick perspective it doesn't make sense but maybe why not.

I also feel the Knicks should shoot for finding a picks for future drafts, as opposed to this years draft, so the salary implications are better on the cap for them. Dare I say why not even trade this year's pick along with a player for a future pick to clear even more cap space? Is cap space more important than cheap talent next season?

i posted in the other thread

DAL does have a 4 mill tpe, which can be used to deal turiaf for
