Anyone else here...

Post#1 » by writerman » Sun Jan 23, 2011 4:36 am

that would like us to keep Dunleavy, if he would sign a reasonable contract?

I like his game a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if Foster decided to retire, and even a team with a young core like ours can use a smart veteran who is still productive.

Keeping Mikey D is about the only thing I agree with O'Brien about...

I'm constantly going back and forth on Duns. When he's on, he looks more worth keeping around. When he's off, YIKES! He's a defensive liability, that much we know.

And I have to figure there's a backup-worthy SG out there who can produce offense (hopefully a little more consistently) and at least show up on D. If there's nobody else out there, maybe a smaller contract for a couple years to bide time. He'll be 31 at the start of next season so the younger movement doesn't really fit that.

No he always tries to steal rebounds from other players on our team and causes turnovers. He has left Batum open at least 4 times in the 4th quarter, and Batum has knocked down a wide open 3 each time.

Forget that.

Nope. He is constantly lost on screens because he just jogs around on defense.

Remember when I said I'm back and forth on Mikey? This is definitely one of those "back" games.

I like Mike, as a person, but we don't need to resign him because we're overstocked at his position. It would be counterproductive to do so. George or Rush could easily offset the loss, allowing 'Born Ready to move one rung up.

This is the ultimate case of addition by subtraction.

He's certainly still better than Rush.

I wouldn't say "certainly". I would say "offensively as a spot-up player".

how many other players can you think of that can do what he can do and are as tall as he is? he's much taller than you'd think if you didn't look to see how his height compares to other players.

I am not a Rush fan and actually used to love Dunleavy if you guys were here years ago, but, i'd take Rush over Dunleavy all day long. Dunleavy is a terrible shooter and his defense is horrid. I still don't like Rush's game but he does on occasion get hot from three point land but also provides decent defense.
