Plus the Jays don't often add someone which I love. I have always liked teams who save their honours for the best of the best.

No, it shouldn't. This is why organizations have no heart these days. The level of excellence is NOT about on-field performance. It's about how good a representative of the organization you are/were. Vernon Wells was a top-notch person and player for us for many years. He deserves it, period.

If being a good person was all it took the Raptors would have retired JYD's number years ago.
The fact is the on field/court performance is what matters.

So we agree, being a nice guy and helping the community is great but it shouldn't and doesn't have a thing to do with being honoured by the team.
