Championship Weekend
Packers at Bears
Jets at Steelers
discuss...
My picks column will be up ASAP, but I picked Chicago and Pittsburgh with very little confidence. I can see any of the 4 remaining teams winning the Super Bowl and that's something I can't recall from the past few seasons. Should be an excellent Sunday!

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Packers-Steelers Superbowl.
Like you said it is hard to pick with confidence. I would like the Packers a lot more if the game was at their place.

Re: Championship Weekend
Steelers- Packers in the superbowl
I give the Jets credit for impressive wins over the Colts and Pats, but the Steelers are too balanced. They will run the ball, throw deep and pass on the intermediate routes. The Steelers D is also the best in the league.
Packers have a lot of momentum and their week 17 win has to give them confidence. The lack of a running game and a weak Offensive line agaisnt a strong defense are legitimate reasons for concern. I also feel their is a better chance of the Packers D to hold the Bears to 3 points again than the Bears D to hold the Packers to 10 points

Just read it. I can see where you're coming from with the 2005 NFC Championship parallel, but there's one huge difference.
2005 Saints Defense
Yards Per Game: 312.1 (14th)
Points Per Game: 24.9 (28th)
2010 Packers Defense
Yards Per Game: 309.1 (5th)
Points Per Game: 15 (2nd)
I'm going to go with a Bears-Jets Super Bowl. Home field and special teams will push the Bears over the top, meanwhile the Steelers were lucky to beat the Ravens and the Jets' swagger level is at 11 now. Cutler v Sanchez will be a weird SB matchup.

Re: Championship Weekend
I think the NFC game is up to the bears... if they play well like they been have they should win.. but if Cutler and the whole team don't play like they have recently the packers are a very solid, consistent team and will beat them.
Im looking for the Steelers to play a solid steelers football game, with minimal mistakes and scoring and good defense, and then the Jets will squeeze out a couple great plays and make just enough to win and continue this amazing run.
Jets-Bears superbowl... Hester returns opening kick for TD but like last time the bears still lose and the J-E-T-S are super bowl champs!

I guess I disagree with the notion that if the 'Bears play like they have been.' When both teams are playing their best football, I think the Packers are a better team, flat out. If this game was being played on turf, indoors, I'd pick the Packers with 100% confidence regardless of where they would be playing. Since this game is being played outdoors, in freezing temperatures, it's a much bigger deal. I think it's a matter of how that whether affects the Packers passing attack. If it hinders it a great deal, I don't think they can win. Our running game isn't consistent enough.

Bears (this game is a complete toss-up)
Steelers
Cheering for Jets/Bears.
Seelers win the SB.

Re: Championship Weekend
so ive sucked predicting the playoffs so far but here it goes anyway. most of the wins in the playoffs so far has came down to the quarterback play. the only exception is mark sanchez. he's managed the game yes but he cannot carry the team on his back. the same goes for jay cutler, so with that said....
Greenbay vs Chicago
im not going to over-analyze this game. both teams have great defenses. Aaron Rodgers will continue his hot streak. same story goes for chicago, great team with a wild card at quarterback. weve seen it before, i know they made the superbowl with grossman but i don't see jay cutler playing well. chicago's only chance is devin hester. I'll take Greenbay.
Jets vs Pittsburgh
again both teams have great defenses. the story is the same for new york, great team, can mark sanchez manage the game and not eff up. i think it takes more than that against steelers in the playoffs (i.e. baltimore ravens). this squad is familiar with this environment, this is home for them, they live for this situations. Big Ben will put the steelers back into the superbowl. I'll take the Pittsburgh.

Re: Championship Weekend
Not sure who to root for. But I think it's going to be a Packers/Steelers SB, with the Steelers winning it all.

Huge INT by Urlacher, but even bigger TD saving tackle by Rodgers.

Benching Cutler was an emo move. It makes the team look desparate. The Bears only were down 7 points.
Cutler was playing bad, but...come on. I don't understand why you'd do that.

The Bears were down 14-0 when Cutler was "benched".
