Game Thread - Wiz vs New York Jan 24, 2011 DONK

Post#1 » by hands11 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 5:09 am

Both teams playing on a days rest. Both teams really want this win.

Wizard coming off a road win against Boston and are on a 4-3 run
New York coming off a loss to OKC and on a 0-6 streak

While the Wiz record is nothing to write home about they do have.

#5 Assist Leader in John Wall
#7 SG in Super Bean
#2 Shot blocker in McGee

Not bad pieces for the future. If Wall can play solid D and shoot a little better, he would be an AS this year.

Wall vs Felton
Should be a solid match up. Combo PG vs Pure PG

Nick vs Fields 6-7 210 vs 6-7 210
Nick should be focused and looking to rebound from a poor shooting game.

Lewis vs Chandler
The new team leader and two time AS should be up to the challenge

Dray vs Gallinari
Another get under your skin type for Dray and deal with. He should be warmed up after last game.

McGee vs Stoudemire
Going to be a tough match up for McGee but this time we have Seraphin to help and Yi and Armstrong in the wings

And welcome to our newest member and very interesting looking PG gamer. The Mustafa Man

OK Hands11, can you get the first road win? How about the first 3-game win streak (I'm going to the Denver game).

New York's not going to tire down the stretch like Boston did. If Blatche can be fired up, Shakur can continue to give good minutes spelling Wall, Young has a decent game, and the Wizards don't give New York endless wide open 3s, they could take it even if they don't really slow down Stoudemire.

C'mon Hands, come on Wizards.

at this point there is really nothing you can say.
They have played Lucy to the fans Charlie Brown
not quite all year with the times they haven't
been, they've absolutely stunk so bad Lucy
wouldn't even torture us.

also going to the DEN game -come on by 107 MS and
say hello. I'll be the 'old' man just above and to the
left of the tunnel as you're looking down wearing
the stupid Wiz wig.

BTW - to all you AT haters out there - his D on Melo
last year was a big factor in our getting a W. That
and Den was due for an emotional let down after
Melo punked LeTravel in CLE the night before.

I really don't want to get my hopes up only have them crushed again, but I kinda feel like the Wizards might actually win this one.

Dude you're crazy!!!! There is no way we hold the Knicks to 2 points, you know Amare will have 35pts alone.

No way! McGee will pump-fake Amare in to 6 fouls within the first 10 minutes!

We can beat them if both Dray & NY are on there games but you never know when that will happen at the same time. If Wall's J is going then he will keep us in it. Lets run and get it. If we have any kind of success then we have a great chance because they see this as there game to end the slump. If they fall behind at any time or struggle at any time then that crowd will start moaning, booing, the team will get down, play tighter, and we can feed off it.

Gallo is going through the norm. Whenever guys come from injury they always look like there stud self in the 1st game or 2 but then reality sets in and the rust shows. I expect him to still look crappy this game if we can play any kinda D on him. Dray can go off if he's right

And they'll have at least 100 pts off 3s (or 99, because 100 is not divisible by 3).

So 136-135 Knicks. Crap.

We're going for the record held by Dallas I-believe. Teams get-up for us at home like it's a play-off game.

No chance. Amare doesn't care enough on D to be bothered reacting to pump fakes.

10 rebounds or 10 shoots by McGee is the mark to hit.

Does our new leader taste it ?
